Leaving NEGATIVE Feedback

If a seller is unresponsive and faiuls to ship an item for over a month, do you leave negative or neutral feedback? If not, what do you think warrants negative feedback? Should I be wary of relaliative negative feedback and would it affect me if she gave me negative, as a buyer, for giving her a negative? Is that a dumb concern? Thanks for the help, people!

I would probley make a complaint thing through paypay to get your money back, and see if she starts contacting you then.
I would be scared if i left negative feedback, then she would leave me negative also.. but im a paranoid person so that may not be everyones opinion.
I think all feedback, whether it is left as a buyer or as a shop owner is the same when people see the percentage,
So if you got bad feedback as a buyer, people can see that in your shop..

Personally, I'd try to find out what's going on with the purchase before leaving feedback.

If the item hasn't shipped in that time frame and there's no response from the seller, I'd file a paypal claim first and report a non-delivery on Etsy before leaving feedback.

I hate how this feedback stuff can be retaliative. As a seller, I usually leave the feedback for a buyer immediately based on how quickly they paid, etc because I feel, as a buyer, when sellers wait it seems like they are waiting to match feedbacks and that seems so dishonest, but with all the talk on threads recently about buyers leaving negative feedback for stupid reasons, I am thinking about waiting now, too because responding might be your only chance to explain if you are given a negative. Anyway, a month without shipment is a solid reason to leave negative feedback and it sucks that you feel like you can't in fear or retaliation. I have no idea what could be done to remedy that. I'm also pretty paranoid about negative feedback. If I'm not entirely happy with an order (though not as drastic as your case) I usually just don't leave any feedback at all. I just don't want the person to leave me negative feedback as a way of getting back at me for their negative feedback.

I'd try to contact the seller through Etsy as well as personal email. File a non-delivery report with PayPal (you only have 45 days to do this, I believe!). If this does not get them to respond, leave the negative feedback. I think as long as you're fair about the process, a negative would be warranted, but I would also be afraid of a retaliatory remark.

If the shipping is international, it can take 2-4 weeks, depending on the country.

This was a custom listing, and we had spoken about it before. But her non responses now seem strange. The supplies I had ordered from her previously took like a week.

A month is FAR too long to have to wait for an item! Even the cheapest method to send something, First Class mail only takes about 3 days... When I sell, I ship my items out within a day! Have you filed a claim with PayPal? I wouldn't leave negative feedback yet, but I would ask for a refund if the item has not arrived by Monday. A custom order, like making a crochet afghan may take a month, BUT there should be communication in the meantime. I always provide that to my customers and I expect the same as a buyer. I never leave it, even if the situation really does warrant it as I feel like I'm held hostage by the fact that if they were then to leave me bad feedback it would affect my shop. I just vote with my wallet and NEVER shop there again. Fortunately this only has happened a few times and it's been for small amounts for supplies so it hasn't been a difficult decision.

I wish that I were braver!

As a buyer, I always wait until I have received the item before leaving feedback. That way I can take into consideration the time it took the seller to ship the item, how long it took, the actual item itself compared to the images, description etc. Plus the type of communication between the you and seller - such as when problems may arise.

I hope it all gets sorted!

Is it your local supplier? If it goes from abroad there can be custom delays - sometimes these things just happen) but usually it takes 1-2 weeks. Strange she doesn't respond your messages...
