Labor Day weekend

Is anyone going to have a sale for Labor Day weekend? My shop has been so slow I am going to have a sale.

Have you had one in the past and did it help you in the slow summer?

Thanks!

Re: Labor Day weekend

No, I'll be off celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary, so I'd like to keep things simple. ;)

Re: Labor Day weekend

I'm not running a sale - sales have not been effective for me but tweaking my tags, titles and SEO has helped. When my views and sales start dropping I start working on those things.
I hope you get lots of sales on that weekend so I'm sprinkling "sales dust" in your shop ;-)
Blessings,
Sandy

No, in the U.S. this is one of the last outdoor holidays of the summer season so there really aren't enough people viewing my shop to make setting up a sale worth the effort.

Sandy, when you say you begin "tweaking" your tags and SEO's, what do you mean? I'm just now learning about that and would so appreciate any tips you could offer.

Everyone else wade in, too, if you have a moment.

Thanks!

Re: Labor Day weekend

Hi Betty - You have a very lovely vintage shop ;-) When my views start slipping I look to make sure my titles and tags are words someone would type in to find that item. Sometimes just rearranging a title to have the first 3 words actually identify the item will do the trick. I noticed on this listing of yours
https://www.etsy.com/listing/153158479/antique-handmade-cloth-purse-with?ref=shop_home_feat
The title looks good but you have mostly one word tags. You can use up to 20 characters in each tag and get more descriptive of what that item is. For instance one of your tags is "ecru" - I'm not sure anyone would type that in to find that beautiful vintage pouch. So just sitting here thinking I might type in
Drawstring Bag
Drawstring Pouch
Ecru Linen Pouch
Ecru Linen Bag
Vintage Purse
Vintage Pouch
Vintage Bag
Vintage Handmade Bag
Small Purse
Vintage Coin Bag
Vintage Coin Pouch
Hand Stitched Bag
Hand Stitched Pouch
Vintage Embroidery
Embroidered Linen
So there are a few ideas - you have all the right words in your tags just combine them to actually describe your item and by combining the words you actually get more tags which is more chances to get found.
Then you will want to go through and make sure you are using each one of your title words, and tag words in your description.
I hope I am not overwhelming you - if you have any other questions feel free to message me - I am always happy to help ;-) We are all learning together!
Blessings,
Sandy
