Items in search results: question

When I search "photo blocks" - one of my products is on the 1st page - great! However, it is one of the least viewed items. Why is that? Wouldn't the relavency be arranged so that the most popular and most-viewed items appear higher? Thoughts?

Erica, not sure why this is, I wonder if you have it on most recent. So your most recent item is up on the first page

I was wondering the same thing! I searched for Halloween jewelry, and a pendant that's never sold and gets hardly no attention is on the first page. Whereas, I have two different stud earrings that have each sold more than once and they are no where to be found! I know SEO is important, but sometimes I feel like the order or results are somewhat arbitrary.

No, Olivia - my settings are set on relavency and still one of my least viewed items comes up. Hmmmm?

Although your 'photo block' is on the first page, its title indicates that its a Mothers day /fathers day gift.

Since Mothers Day isn't for another 10 months, most people won't be looking for gifts quite yet.

I've found that if you are pigeon holing your items, they don't really get viewed that often.

I did notice that there's no mention of the materials used in the title or the description and that there aren't any photos from different angles.

Relevancy only means that your item matches the words and or phrase that the potential buyer was looking for. It doesn't necessarily mean that its the most viewed item or that it will get more views.

I didn't realize that having Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc would kind of "exclude" the item. I'll have to play around a little

And I know it's not my best listing - that's why I'd love to have some of my other items higher in search results. Unfortunately, I can't take new photos of my products - they're mostly custom and once they ship...they're gone :)
