Item listing in bundles

I see a lot of people selling in sets. Example: 12 bath bombs for $30.00. I'm wondering if that is a good strategy, instead of selling them by them selves?!!! I sell those types of items, and when i saw that i changed one of my listings to see if that would work for me! Is that a good choice?

Re: Item listing in bundles

I am also trying that with my lighter covers because i bealive that it`s better for the buyer to pay shippement just once cos somehow it`s not worth buying something for 7 bucks and paying shippement 6 ........ thought I will try it that way - it will show if it works
Good luck

Re: Item listing in bundles

I think it's a good idea to have both individual listing and bigger sets, maybe at a slight discount. Sometimes, people will buy more, just because they have the option, especially if there's a discount involved. It can't hurt to try!

Re: Item listing in bundles

I'm selling single to 2-4 strands of my beads. Selling in bundles or wholesale seems to help me. Still have a ways to go.

Re: Item listing in bundles

I sell some of my items in sets but don't get any more sales with them than I do the individual items. I think it is a good idea to offer both so customers have options.

Re: Item listing in bundles

I agree that this strategy can't hurt especially if you can pay less in shipping or get a discount of some sort.

Re: Item listing in bundles

I think it depends on whether or not the buyer can justify the shipping on single, lower priced items.

Why not try listing groups of two, four, six, etc in a listing... then also offer the singles, with the multiple quantity choice and see how that works for you. If your buyers start adding quantities, then perhaps bundling them is a better idea and more cost effective for your customers and for you on packaging and shipping.

Sometimes on smaller items, they might like to buy more so they can keep one or two and share the rest ;)

And the nice thing about the multiple quantity listings is that if one or two sell, the listing automatically renews itself, and brings you to the top of the heap again!

Personally, I don't know that I'd care to buy 12 of an item, but I might like to try more than one... maybe 2 or 4, then if I liked them, I'd probly come back for more. I've bought some b&b products here in smaller sizes to sample the fragrances, then gone back to buy the larger size in those I liked best.

Re: Item listing in bundles

Some people have specialty shops, and they like to buy in bulk so they can stock up. That is the customer i was thinking about when I started to bundle some of my listings. Also that customer that has a baby shower, bridal party, birthday they are planning and they need favors.

Re: Item listing in bundles

I hadn't thought of that, but as a jewelry shop, I don't think in quantities, lol

I think you have something there, Lynette... no doubt the bundles would appeal to those customers, and it's certainly worth trying out :)

Re: Item listing in bundles

I sell my soap dishes in quantities of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 25 and 50 and also in any custom quantity the buyer requests.

Some only want one, some want a couple and some want them for the B&B shop.

Re: Item listing in bundles

I have some cards that I sell singe and sets. So I would list some seperate and then lists some as sets, that way the buyer has a choice.

Re: Item listing in bundles

Maybe you can try once. Or write in your title that it could be at the piece or by 20-40 or 60. I don't know.

Maybe you have to think about the expedition taxes, if you sell a set do you need to change them or not...

Good luck for sales!

Re: Item listing in bundles

For something like bathsoaps I would offer products singularly and in sets. For sets I would offer something like: 3 of 1 scent, 6 of 1 scent, 3 of cordinating products/scents.

For example, if you're selling bath bombs, soaps and candles I would offer an entire bath party set with 1 item from each product offering in cordinating scents (all vanilla, all chocolate, etc). I would also cordinate some of my product offering for difference seasons, like fall would be apple cider, cinnamon apple, vanilla, pumpkin. In that case I would offer sets of bathbombs in all the fall scents, candles in a seperate listing in fall scents, etc. I would also offer a fall basket with an assortment of bathbombs, soaps & such in a cute basket with a fluffy loofa, a bath massager & even an eye mask (these are things you could pick up at Wal-Mart or other Etsy sellers) and offer it all together in one big set for a nice healthy profit. These would make great gifts for people (think Birthday, housewarming, college grads, new college students, Christmas, Get Well, etc)

Additionally, i like to buy things like bath products, makeup & other personal hygene stuff, but I love it when I can buy a 'sample pack' with 3-12 varieties in a smaller size. This way i can try a bunch of scents, colors, etc before commiting too a bigger order. Just some ideas!

Re: Item listing in bundles

I sell bracelets and I was thinking of offering my customers the option of buying 3 of my $15 stocking stuffers for a reduced price (I haven't listed them yet). Do I pick 3, photograph them together and offer them for a lower price? Or how would I list them if they had the option of picking 3 themselves?

Thanks for any help you all can give me. I am relatively new at this - first Christmas with Etsy.
