Is twitter helpful?

I don't have a twitter account and therefore don't have any twitter followers.

Do any of you get much traffic from twitter?

Re: Is twitter helpful?

Myself - I don't but since it's really little to no effort to post my ads - why not? You never know!

Re: Is twitter helpful?

I don't like it that much- maybe cos my feed is full of spam!

Posting a listing on twitter does get it instant views, but I have hears these are just from bots anyway....

It is very easy to use and a lot of people really like it though- everyone's different. I guess it also depends if you can think of things to tweet about! I struggle with that, which is why I prefer pinterest :-)

Re: Is twitter helpful?

I don't have a ton of followers myself, but occasionally will get people who promote my items with larger followings and that definitely brings in views. Like anything it takes time to build credibility and loyal followers.

Re: Is twitter helpful?

Not for me. I don't think I have gotten one view from my twitter followers.

Re: Is twitter helpful?

I agree with Katie, like any other social network, it takes time to build a following and credibility. The one thing that I really like about Twitter is that it is really easy to build relationships with non-artists, therefore tapping into a whole other market of buyers! I've been using it for over a year and I am happy with the cross promotions and followers that I have been able to gather one by one (that's my own philosophy...relational, no spam). Start with connecting with some friends who are willing to retweet your tweets and go from there! Best of luck! Aloha, Connie

Re: Is twitter helpful?

Now that we can link our twitter to our shops I am trying to tweet more... for a while I was just using it to post my listings but now I am using it to make friends and just generally get to know my fellow tweeters and etsians. I think eventually I will get traffic from twitter but for now it is just a fun way to make known little things that happen through out my day and say hello to friends. ;)

Re: Is twitter helpful?

Definitely! It is, however, very time consuming to maintain an active twitter account and regularly interact with fans and fellow crafters, so some would prefer to invest more time in getting better products / presentation out there. After all it just depends on what suits you better.

Re: Is twitter helpful?

Got more view from Pinterest but I find twitter fun. Haven't gotten any views from Twitter but I didn't promote on twitter either.

Re: Is twitter helpful?

I get a lot of immediate views to items I Tweet about, but I don't know if they have lead to any sales. I go through real phases of loving Twitter and using it frequently and then I'll ignore it for ages. It can't hurt to give it a go, it's much less hassle than Facebook!

Re: Is twitter helpful?

I combined my shop and personal twitter as I don't really use my personal twitter much. I see it as a fun, behind the scenes kinds of thing that gets my listings out to friends and people who might know me as a person before they know me as a shop :)

Re: Is twitter helpful?

Does anyone else get annoyed with people inky tweeting listings/links/basically spam?! I would like more 'real people' to follow- that would make it more fun :-)
