Is there a country you DON'T post to?

At the moment I only send to the UK and USA, but now that I'm used to Etsy I might open it up more.

When I was googling around about countries with problems I read that Nigeria and Italy buyers seem to have a lot of problems with receiving their international mail.

Is there any country you won't send to, and for what reason?

Or have you had some trouble with anywhere?

Re: Is there a country you DON'T post to?

We don't ship worldwide. Like you we ship to the UK and USA, and besides we also ship to Canada, Australia, Japan and all EU countries.

We had quite some orders from Italy, but it has never been a problem for us with a delivery to Italy.

We have decided not to extend further the list of the countries to which we ship, due to the customs regulations/ restrictions for shipping certain items (like jewelry), which exist in many countries.

I ship to all the whole wide world. I've had a bit a hassle with some packages from the US, UK and Malaysia.
But that won't stop me from sending my items all around the world.

Re: Is there a country you DON'T post to?

I ship worldwide and so far have not had any problems (knock on wood).

Does anyone know why shipping jewelry is an issue for some countries?

I, too, ship worldwide. I've only had one order from outside the US and it arrived with no problem. I guess if I start having problems then I may narrow it down but so far so good.

Re: Is there a country you DON'T post to?

I ship to every country that the USPS will deliver to. There are some countries that we are not allowed to ship from the USA (Cuba used to be one of them).

So far the only country I've had a real problem with is the USA. The service is extremely slow at times and unreliable at other times.

I have a few very good customers in Nigeria and other African countries and yes it does seem to take forever for packages to get there, but they do get there. I make sure that I insure anything that I cannot afford to replace out of pocket and that seems to help.

Australia has some restrictions on plant material, including dried plants such as the wheat I weave with.

Imports have to sit in quarantine for a couple of weeks to make sure no destructive insects come in. I decided that for the relatively small dollar amount of my sales, it wouldn't be worth it.

Re: Is there a country you DON'T post to?

I use Shipsaver insurance to cover some items. They do not sell insurance to certain countries such as Brazil, Bolivia, Nigeria, Uruguay, etc. If they don't offer coverage, presumably due to high losses, I don't ship there.
