Instagram?

Does anyone use Instagram to promote a shop? I just started an Instagram page for LaraLeib and I'm wondering what else is out there. Does anyone find it helps with sales?

Thanks!

Re: Instagram?

I have an instagram and I put almost all my items up there at one point or another, but I don't really promote on it all that much. I tend to keep up with a lot of other people who knit and see what they're working on. A few of them are on etsy too! That being said, I have had a few sales come from instagram. People have seen things and liked them!

Re: Instagram?

That's great! How do you go from the like to the sale? Do you post links to individual items?

Re: Instagram?

I normally post the things I make before they even make it into my etsy store. Sometimes people will tell me they really love something, or love the colors and I just mention that it's for sale, and if they tell me they want it I have them send me an email to work out the details about things. Like I said though, it's happened twice. It's more my place to keep up with other knitters. Maybe there are a lot of people making paper flowers too?

Re: Instagram?

It's the same process for twitter- find people that are into the same things as you- follow them while posting and you'll develop a following that way! Ue as many hash tags as you can think of in your descriptions as well to have people find you. A popular one is #instagramhub but you can make them up as well. :)

Re: Instagram?

I use Instagram as well. My etsy shop addy is in my bio. I post new items there and promote my facebook page. I know I received one order from there so far. I don't just promote my biz there though. I find quirky pictures, cute sayings, and inspirational quotes to. Kinda like what I do on facebook.

Re: Instagram?

I do! I'm bakeallthethings on there. I use it to show photos of treats in progress, shopping expeditions, yummy desserts I'm eating around town, really cool products I see, as well as staged shots of new items. I think of it more as a way of interacting with fans who may not have made a purchase yet, as well as connecting with customers.
