Please check your listings

The holidays are finally over and I figured I'd use this down time to go through my listings and see what I can fine tune a little. You won't believe how many listings I found with errors, wrong tags, items in the wrong sections, missing discriptions, oh my!

I figured that if my shop was like that then there has to be others in the same boat. Please take a few minutes to go through your listings and fine tune them. You'll be suprised at what you'll find!

Yes Yes :D I just have the same experience especially because English is not my first language, my listing were full of mistakes, googleing all the time !!! Have to get better in writing :)

Thanks Christina! This made me laugh. I was changing a tag for the holidays and I found a Christmas in July tag!!! Definitely a necessary reminder! Adding it to my weekend to do!!!

Yes, I've been revising some of my old listings and trying not to cringe. Don't even get me started on how bad some of my old photos were.

I am always finding something in one of my listings!! The other day I found I had repeated the same paragraph twice in the same listing. LOL Must have been reeeeeally important!! :) :)

Good advice....and not only spelling errors....sometimes you may have the wrong color in a tag, like when you copy a listing because you are adding a "new" listing that is similar.

Also....shipping fees go up so you may have to adjust your prices.

This is exactly what my plans for February is. Go through my listings and my inventory and make sure everything matches up. The holidays were crazy and now that I have some breathing room, I figure it's time to do a physical as well as a virtual inventory.

I've been going through my listings and updating/removing old tags and fixing things. It's amazing what gets missed even when I check and double check! I think it's an ongoing process, making sure listings are in tip-top shape.

Are there any tools that would allow me to add and remove tags from all listings at the same time? For instacne, I still have "Christmas" listed in a bunch of tags and would love to rmeove it.

Manny, I don't think there is a way to remove tags from multiple listings at the same time... I am ALWAYS fine tuning my listings and my shop is still a work in progress!

Viktorya, how did you get two shipping profiles for a listing?

So true! I've been going through my listings and verifying the information, and I've found several listings with contradictory info regarding shipping and production times. Not very professional!

I am also curious how to add two shipping profiles?

Thanks for the reminder! I upped my prices recently and apparently missed a listing because it sold yesterday at the old price. Oops! Definitely need to keep revising titles, tags, descriptions, oh yeah, and photos...

Great advice! I've been thinking about starting a proofreading team- one where people can post their item description and list of tags for a 2nd set of eyes to review, ask questions, and give advice. Simple things like "so what is it lined with?" or "I think you wrote this sentence wrong" or "Consider this tag" might be really helpful....

At least I think so. Would any of you be interested in such a group?
