Instagram tips for newbies

I recently got started with Instagram because I've heard other Etsy sellers praise it. So far I've found that the best way to reach new people is by smart use of hashtags. Does anyone else have good tips for newbies?

Hi Amanda! Aside from hashtags, I'd say definitely seek out likeminded shop owners to create yourself a little community! Be active! Like, Comment, Share. I also like to post flash sale coupons sometimes (like 10% an item, etc.) to get peoples' attention!

Today I'm fortunate enough to participate in my 1st loop giveaway with other Etsy shops owners, which I've never done before! I'll let you know how that goes in terms of exposure/views/sales!

Oh neat, Congrats Ashley. I've been wondering to do get involved in the loops, will definitely like to hear how it goes.

I have fallen in love with Instagram. I do agree hashtags are quite important, and using it smartly. I have gotten a nice amount of followers in a decent amount of time, sure faster than it was for facebook. I also agree with Ashley, in that you do have to be active. Don't saturate but be active. comment, like, and etc and it works nicely. I also love it for the fact that your feed does not get cluttered with a bunch of stuff that you do not want there.

Ashley and Sheena - You both have great pages! Getting involved in like-minded feeds is good advice. Finding those pages via threads like this and following hashtags probably works well.
