I read a few posts and this group seems really helpful and supportive - it is nice to know there is mutual support out there.
Ok, so my dilemma is a location one. I am an Australian currently living in Abu Dhabi. I can't access any cost effective giclee printers for my art prints here, so I am using a U.K. printer for everywhere except the U.S. and an American printer for U.S. sales. The American printer will not ship internationally, hence a need for 2..
I noticed, if I say my location is here in Abu Dhabi, Etsy tells buyers that I am shipping from Abu Dhabi, and I don't want this because a) I am not shipping from here and b) it makes it sound like I am FROM Abu Dhabi, and I am not, nor do I want to be associated with this region publicly due to various reasons.
So I am already sort of forced to fib, since I have had to say I am in London, as that is where most of the prints will ship from (I hope).
Question 1: Is this the best way to handle this situation? Is there another option I don't know about?
Question 2: Etsy will not let me use direct checkout or accept anything except PayPal payment. Even though U.K. is on the list of direct checkout countries. I tried using a vpn and refreshing and it still didn't work. Any ideas why this is happening?
