Ideas as to why a certain item isnt selling when the rest of my shop is booming?

I have a pacifier clip shop which sells, obviously, pacifier clips but I also sell kanzashi flower clips. My paci clips are flying off the shelves ( My shop was set up in 2010 but I never listed anything until this past May) but my flower clips don't even get views. I have no idea why either. Id love to here some input as to why this is the case. I do search ads and promote them, when I search for that kind of clip they come up on the top so I am just right confused. Any help is appreciated!

I think that your hair clips are adorable. I tend to like the smaller clips...not those huge flowers on little babes. In your listing for the headbands you say to make sure the buyer mentions the flower that they want in the comments to seller. That confused me a little because their is only one flower pictured in your photos. I would make each listing with that particular flower that you have in the photo. Could other buyers not be sure what to do?

Otherwise, why they aren't buying the clips is a mystery to me.

Maybe it's just me, but I had no idea what a "kanzashi" flower clip was.

I would work on re-marketing them, or at least changing the name. Based on your photos, it seems like most people looking for something like that would just call it a baby or toddler hair clip.

In my opinion its your tags they are very generic so they are going to show up in a search that has a lot of items like Accessories has 1,981,274 items and Children has 1,420,733 items

i would rewrite them to be more what you would search for when looking for the item. this post helped me a lot after i read it i have reworked my tags and shop and got more hits on items (sales are still slow im new) http://etsymentors.blogspot.com/p/critique-your-own-shop.html

The other thing i notice you have let me know which one you want i would list each one as its own listing so like the pink one would be its own listing like this

This listing for me would be for the size 6 to 18 headband with the black white and green flower.and talk about the size like how big around it is. then i would do your next size up or down with the same flower just different size (double your listings not your work) if these flowers are not one of a kind if that makes any sence

Right now, I think it's a matter of necessity versus luxury. Moms need something to clip a pacifier, so it's easier to spend the money on that versus a luxury item such as a headband.

I think that things like headbands and items that are more decorative will pick up as we get into fall.

I see you ship internationally, so wanted to let you know that in the UK we call a pacifier a dummy (plural - dummies), so you may want to add that to your titles/tags to reach more customers.

Thanks for all the great input!! I will be for sure tweaking the hair clip listings. I guess I'll be busting out the camara to take some new pictures :) I will be adding dummy/ies to tags I completely forgot about that!
