I'm overwhelmed with orders!!!

Since March my orders have been steadily rising (yay!) and I'm now to a point I'm incredibly overwhelmed. I've already raised prices once, and that increased the amount of orders I've received instead of decreasing like I thought. I'm probably going to raise prices again. Who else out there has become overwhelmed with orders (mine are all made to order customized pieces) and how have you relaxed about it? I guess of all the problems to have, this is a good one!

I had a graphics design shop on Etsy for a few years selling mostly custom designs. My shop became too busy and I also felt overwhelmed. I kept raising my prices until the sales leveled off to the point where I could manage. It also helped to add a reasonable turn-around time (up to four weeks at one time) so that I would not feel so pressured.

Congratulations. It IS good problem to have! And you seem to be going in the right direction by increasing prices.

When I have become massively overwhelmed....i was forced to raise prices and increase production time....just as Mary suggested.

Thanks so much for the feedback...I was thinking $20 for the state key chains with one heart and $24 for the ones with a heart and message. Thoughts? Higher/lower? It takes me abt 30 min start to finish for one keychain and the materials aren't really much at all.

I have just recently re-opened my shop. A year ago when I started I had a steady stream of customers coming in, but I had family problems to deal with and had to close my shop until I fixed them. I have just been open for a month or so and all is changed, seems like I am starting all over from scratch. Throw a few of those customers my way if you can.

Your shop is so cute and congratulations to you! I have been considering contacting local newspapers and writing to blog editors and such in order to try to gain exposure, but I worry that should my business take off, I might not be able to meet the demand. Maybe these thoughts are holding me back, I don't know...

But I do know I wish I had you problem!!! I believe I would rather have a ton of sales coming in and have to put up longer lead times, than have them coming drip, drip, drip like in my shop now. All my best to you ( :

Yup, increase production time, increase prices a little, and see if you can hire someone for things that eat up your time like house cleaning (probably easiest to do) or shipping your products.
