I just got contacted by an editor of a very popular Magazine and..

I am always skeptical when someone contacts me asking for a sample in order to "check out" your product or donate for a good cause. I usually ignore when i think it is just someone looking for something free. But, I checked this "editor's" name out along with magazine etc. and it all checks out. Should I totally be EXCITED on this opportunity??? Anyone out there have a situation like this? Please advise me. Thank you

That happened to me this past fall with BUST magazine and I almost deleted the email since their username was so strange. It all checked out though and now my mobile is in the current issue - awesome! I agree check it out and if it seems legit go for it!

I've been contacted by two major magazines lately. They asked for some of my products to check out and make a professional photo shoot at their office. Everything turned out fine, and they sent me my items back in about a month. So good luck! :)

The magazine just came out this month but I have seen a definite jump in traffic although I have yet to get any of my customer surveys back saying that they found me through BUST but I'd say any magazine feature is good. Good luck - I am sure it will be great exposure for you!

Congratulations! I was contacted a year ago and was featured in "Step by Step Beads". I had several people convo me to tell me they found me through the magazine. It is a great opportunity and it is free advertising! You should do it and yes, you should be excited! I was in the middle of Joann's when I saw I was in the issue. I screamed so loud everyone looked! ♥

I had a similar situation and checked the magazine, editors name and everything checked out. I made sure that my business would be credited. Sent in the samples. Was published in the magazine and continue to have on going sales as a result. I think alot of magazine editors and buyers for companies find etsy a good source they see trends and find handmade items at their fingertips.
