I hate google analytics

I have spent the last hour and 30 minutes trying to figure out how to add my etsy to Google Analytics. I feel so stupid. My blog is already on GA. But I cant figure out how to add the etsy. I added my blog to GA before they changed their format. The help screens about GA on etsy tell me to go to screens that do not match the screens on my GA. I am so mad. I once watched a video on etsy on how to add GA but I cannot find it anywhere. I am going to scream and eat a bag of chips.

Go to your shop > Options > Web Analytics, and you will see a box for the Google Analytics Web Property ID. Enter your ID# (UA-something) there.

Then, relax and take a deep breath. It will be okay! Sorry you had trouble.

well google analytics did just update so they may not have updated the tutorials/help section yet.

If you can get to the Admin panel on GA > click whatever account you already have > click + new property > my default URLs ("Website's URL") is www.etsy.com > once you click "create property" there is a tracking code at the top of your page

go to etsy > click Your Shop > click Options > click Web Analytics > and insert the tracking code.

Thanks for your help. I will look at this again when I am calmer. I figured out where to put the tracking code on etsy but I got very confused trying to maneuver through GA and and their new format. I couldn't figure out how to add the etsy to my existing profile on GA. I don't actually hate GA I just find their format confusing and their help screens badly worded.

Yeah, the new format is crazy confusing. I only am just finally starting to figure out where things are. I don't know if anyone is going to write any new tutorials, back when it first came out, everyone was excited about it, but since then shop stats seems to be getting better and better, so I don't know how many people still put a lot of time in to using GA.

it is a bit confusing, but once you have it in there it's done! Also, I should mention that it took like a day for my results to show up. Deep breaths!

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks it is confusing. I may have to back up and watch some of Google's videos on how to use and read the darned thing.

I've been using GA for a long time. The older version was easy to figure out; the new version not so much. Is there a tutorial to watch? For example,it says adwords is not set but how do you set it? The old version had a section where I could see what time was peak viewing on my site. Cannot find it now. Feel it is a valuable tool if you can figure out how to use it.

If it helps you any, I've put GA tracking in three shops and on one website - for whatever reason, the last website I've tried to install it on will not take it. It makes me want to scream.
