How to use twitter to make promote for you ?

Sorry, I don't. But just want to say it's something I want to get into doing but feel quite nervous about it. I guess dive in and figure it out along the way, eh?! One thing I've heard many times is don't always tweet about new listings. Use it to build a rapport with others.

Hi! Welcome to Twitter - I avoided it for the longest time, but find I'm really enjoying it now and know I've had at least a few sales directly from the site plus have made a lot of really great connections.

ThisSticksLife is right - definitely don't use it to just drop links all the time... you'll get the most out of it if you engage in (140 character) conversations.

Some basic tips:
-Include a profile picture - the default image is ugly for a reason, Twitter wants you to change it!

-Include a bio about you, not necessarily about what you sell (include a link to your shop or blog though) - what can other people expect you to tweet about?

-Learn the lingo...
... Use @ at the beginning of a tweet to reply directly to someone else
... Use @ anywhere but the beginning of a tweet to mention someone else
... RT means that something was "Re-Tweeted"
... Using # turns the word immediately after that into a hashtag, a clickable link that will show other tweets with that same hashtag

-Update your background image - I made mine coordinate with my Etsy shop to keep things consistent, but you can get creative with it.

I use twitter a lot now. Within a month I've got 29 followers. I tweet whenever I have a new listing or size option and within a 'refresh' click, I've got 12- 20 new views. Also I just started to do twitter only coupon codes.

Totally agree with you @saltcityspice
my one only other tip is to follow people whom you'd like to have a conversation with. Search by location and interest, see who comes up, and be engaged!

It's also been a great way for me to stay in touch with people i have met at shows.

I just started twitter a month ago and have got quite a few hits on my site as a result. I agree that you shouldn't post a lot of listings. I followed a couple of people that do that but I got sick of all of there tweets coming up and not being able to see tweets from other people as easily

im just starting to build a base on twitter.. but i find that it works if you give people some info they can take back - share your knowledge/ post good link about te subject you tweet ..and make it human by mixing a bit of your personal tweets.. so that way is not just tonnes of prroducts and treasuries and telling your follower go buy this and go buy that.. hope that helps! :)
