It sounds like you're doing everything that you need to be doing. The trick, at least for me, is to be consistent in doing it, and be patient. I know it's hard, especially when you don't feel like it's paying off, but you'll get there. Plus, in the summer I've heard things are really slow anyway.
One think I have tried to do is to make my products visable. Don't be shy to tell people about it when you're asked what you do, wear your items and when people ask about it tell them you made it and that you sell them, use them as gifts, etc. I don't know if that helps or not, but there is my two cents. :)
