I've got 7 sales so far.

Same month of last year I got 15 sales in total. I expect, with more promotion and more listed items, I can get over 25 sales this month. Finger-cross!

The changes Etsy made to the search has killed my business. Etsy made changes in August and from what I'm reading in other forums it has devastated many of our Etsy shops. On the home page right hand side, under the listing 'Holidays' Christmas is missing. I've written the HELP desk, I hope they can fix it, but I think my sales for this year are going to be non existent.
Has any one else noticed a big drop in sales?

Martha, it is not Etsy (for most people). You would do a lot better if you looked carefully at Etsy's relevancy search and how to optimize for it. The "Etsy Relevancy Search Explained" thread on this team: https://www.etsy.com/teams/10713/etsy-relevancy-seo-and-stats is pretty helpful, and there are some blog posts by Etsy that explain how to do it in basic terms too. Not many people make a significant portion of their $ from Browse - I have a large shop with a lot of daily views, well less than 1% of which are ever from Browse.

I got two sales so far! I've also worked on my SEO and my views have gone up drastically. Also having my stuff on Pintrest and Raverly have helped my views and sales this month. :)

I've had three sales so far, which is good for me since my shop is pretty new. I only had 4 between the time I opened in July through the end of October.

I've had seven orders. For the second time, I also got two orders in one day. I've spent a couple of months working diligently on my SEO and relevancy, and it's completely paying off. Even on days when my views are lower than usual, I often get sales.

SEO, SEO, SEO. It rules.

I do not like the new promoted ads. I see less of my items in the ads as compared to before and I used to have many more hits on my store from the search ads. Now, I hit my ad $ limit very quickly and I did just up it again, but it seems Etsy will make more money from these ads then I will. I am very disappointed in the new ads...they don't work for me and I have seen a big drop in search stats.

What percentage of your sales were from ads before? Have you let Etsy set the automatic bid or have you lowered it manually? I found that when I let Etsy set the bid price, it was something like .20; I was using up my budget in the first few hours of the day and then getting no views the rest of the day. I lowered everything to .10 max and now it lasts throughout the day and has an acceptable ROI.

Business is picking up for me. October was pretty bad with 8 sales, but so far this month I've had 6 sales. And my views are steadily going up, today I had the most views in one day that I've ever had.

And my favorites have gone up too, so hopefully that is from people saving my items for possible gifts.

Last November was my first month of increased sales after learning about SEO, improving photographs and increasing inventory. I looked and I didn't get my first sale until November 23rd, and had 8 sales for that month. So this month has the potential of being pretty good, I think. I hope. :)

Aug, Sep and October we had our best months since opening the last day of May '13. I didn't really get serious until September '13 when I started adding a lot more items. So pretty pleased with Sep/Oct sales. November came and it's surprisingly slow. I've relisted expired items (14 today alone) and added 1 new item. My intention was to add 20 but frankly I'm exhausted with having to match titles and tags for all my items (440 as of 10 minutes ago). 12 sales in 10 days, just not going to cut it. I added 400 items this summer alone, probably more actually, and have plenty of stock to list. Lots of views today, no sales yet.

I am new to Etsy , I play the promo games, work on my SEO, (or so I think) joined the teams, read the sellers handbook...but I have one sale since August.

People tell me to be patient, but I keep making things and people tell me they like my work, but no sales.

I' m pretty frustrated. I don't want to give up,I know I need to keep working on my shop, any advise would be appreciated.

The promo games are basically pointless

Your SEO is awful because you have no space between the commas and words. Not only is it hard to read for the actual buyer, but Etsy (and google) read all of your title as one word, so you can't ever be relevant for any single word or phrase that is in your titles. (same thing is true for slashes)

Fix that across all listings and you should start to get some views, although you should probably also read a basic Etsy relevancy search and keyword research tutorial (there are a few good teams with pretty clear explanations)

Great info Ananemone! A lot of us struggle with SEO. I guess it is a mental block. There is a lot confusion out there about how to list, playing games, etc.

Open my shop in June 2014, not one sell as of yet, I did one trade that shows it was a sell. I have been trying to come up with new items for my shop. Hate to give up but I can not keep spending money on items and listing and get nothing back. What is wrong with my shop listing I have done SEO .
