How many listings is TOO many?

I have so many ideas going around my head and I havn't been here that long, just over a month and a half and I have 60 listings, but I want to add so much more! Should I slow down, or keep going? How many listings is TOO many? I would love to make this into a real career, is the way to do it by making more and trying to sell more, or focusing on the products I already have, and improving them? Hoping someone will be able to help me, and hope you are all having a lovely Saturday :)

As long as you can afford to list it all, I don't think you can have "too many." Just remember to make navigating your shop easy with sections. Plus, the more listings you have, the easier it is to get found!

I think you're fine if you only have 60 listings! I just made it past 70, which is really exciting! I've heard that 60, 100, 150, and other numbers are the "special" numbers at which you get better sales. I think the more listings you have the better you have a chance at getting views, because you have more things for people to look up and find you... keep creating! List as much as you can afford to list, and promote on teams, Facebook, and wherever else you have the opportunity!

That's a good question, OP. I've heard that 100 is the "magic number" but a shop with tons of pages is overwhelming to me and I usually don't take the time to go through them all. I've got 75 items, and when I reach 100, I will probably stop. I don't want to be too overwhelming. Sometimes too many choices just seems like too many choices (at least to me!).

As long as you have well organized shop sections and a cohesive look, there isn't really such a thing as "too many" listings, IMO. I'm working towards 300 now, but I use my sections well and all of my items fall within a few categories.

Keep listing. As Angie says, so long as your sections are organised it will be fine.

Wow thanks for the feedback! I feel a little better now, its just I have heard from a lot of people that say "over so and so amount is bad as it confuses people" but I guess if I want to make it into a real business one day I have to keep going and not stop :) Lovely shops you all have! <3

I also agree that a large amount is confusing when I am looking into buying in someone's shop. But by a large number, I'm talking over 300-400. Maybe if you want to add a ton more items but am worried that it would be too many you could open up more than one shop? That is if you're making more than one kind of item. =) It's great that you have so many ideas though! I'm jealous!

When a shop has over 30 pages, I have to be really into what they have on their first page and in their featured items in order to take the time to go through it all.

Sometimes I find shops with tons of pages a little overwhelming and just leave. But at the same time, I'll just look at their sections specifically to see if I can find anything I like.. rather than go through the whole thing.

I just have 15+ items but have seen that shops with many items sell a lot more. I am striving to increase my items and keep creating as well, I just love it :)
