The PDX Etsy team got together and had a wonderful organizer (daisychains) for our Cyber Monday promotion. Everyone posted on facebook and their blogs about our big sale. We've all tagged our items with the coupon code and Cyber Monday.
Everyone is doing a different percentage to discount using the same coupon code: PDXETSY2011.
I did 50% off in my shop.
That might be part of the reason for doubling my total sales before lunch time even hit ;)
I did make a sale over the weekend which made me happy (^.^) though It was a small item, I lost money on postage because I forgot the weight and used a preset shipping for it. Oh well, every bit counts towards med bills. lol
I've had almost 50 views...But no sales. :( I've also been promoting extensively on Twitter, but this was kind of a surprise thing for me. I wasn't planning on it, so not much is actually tagged for the sale.
To Rebecca and Judy a number of pages back- Thank you for finnally saying something! I did not want to say it myself. but ETSY IS A COMMUNITY OF SELLERS. I would LOVE to see some stats as to who soley shops vs. those who own shops.
Beautiful and unique items just sit in peoples shops that would be best selling items at any mainstream store or online shopping website. PLEASE Etsy get some advertising out there.
My sale isn't getting as much attention as I'd like... I was hoping for like 10 sales, got 2 this weekend. 30% off coupons and freebies, and I'm running 25$ search ads. Good luck everyone I'm crossing my fingers for the evening hours.
<-------twiddling thumbs, waiting and waiting..... feels like a slower than normal day. Maybe cyber monday shoppers are still at the online big box stores?
I'm running some items with free shipping and a coupon code from my FB page and have even listed 2 new items.
I had 3 sales on Saturday and one yesterday, so a GREAT weekend. No sales today, but NO ONE used my coupon codes for there purchases, and I posted the coupon codes on my home page, and EVERYWHERE (Facebook, twitter, Etsy team discussions, Facebook groups, blog etc.) So that promotion might have upped my views, which may have helped in getting the right people to my shop, but interesting no one took advantage of the coupons, they just liked the work and bought it this weekend because it's a busy weekend for shopping, not so much for the sales in my shop.
well -- it's going. :) views are ok, no sales all weekend -- only sale i had was for a custom order. i've been FBing and tweeting -- but, it's been quiet. although i did get a convo about a custom order ---
@MechanicalOrigami...I didn't think ANYone read my post, lol...thank you for doing so AND for agreeing with me!! I'm truly happy for those of you who are doing well (like Sizzlestrapz & Ricksonjewellery). I think if you have something REALLY different...(or if you have already had a following) ... then you will do well. I was always told that my stuff was REALLY nice. I dunno. I'm not giving up hope...but I'm feeling very frustrated. Etsy, I'm begging you. PLEASE do some advertising!!! :-/
There was a passage in this discussion about the # of sales to each other rather than to outside consumers. In our case, it is mostly brand new to the site. I think there was only 1 (maybe two) internal sale of far.
