How important is a branding label?

I am trying to plan on creating a wider range of products like my shop originally carried. I have never had any labels on my products and wonder is this necessary? Does it increase the value? I especially wonder about the ornaments and pincushions ... I am not sure I would want a label on something that I was going to use. Any ideas? Suggestions? Also I am trying to come up with a cute way of packaging that doesn't break the bank.

I don't think it's CRUCIAL, but it definitely makes your packaging and shop more memorable. I try to put my name on my products so that the customer remembers who I am! There's so many ways to make your own packaging, and I think it's a fun way to work on your shop. I've found super effective ways without spending a bunch of money. I make my own stickers using a xyron sticker making machine, I personalize my jewelry display cards by incorporating stickers of my logo onto them, and I buy ribbon in the same colors to tie it all together. To keep costs low, I try to find as many ways to produce my own packaging as I can. At the very least, invest in business cards! You can create amazing ones (and amazing quality) at moo.com. If you're looking for a cheaper way to get your brand onto your packaging, look into getting a custom stamp made for your business. That way you can stamp your shop's name onto the packaging for whatever the item is, and include a business card for the custom to keep as well!

I don't label my products (most of them are not suitable for permanent labels anyway). Yet my customers have no problem remembering where they got my products.
I think the fact that I make unique products in my own unique style is enough.
(Of course I include business cards in my packages.)
