Hi there,

Making my first sale to a complete stranger was such an indescribable feeling. Up until then, all of my customers had been friends or family members. As soon as I saw the order, I immediately texted my best friend and then rushed to ship the item out.

How did you make your first sale to a stranger? I’m working on a potential article for the Seller Handbook, and I want to hear from you. Was there a turning point in your shop that led to it? Maybe you had an epiphany about how to shoot better product photos or perhaps you revamped your titles and tags. Or maybe you changed course and started selling a new product. Whatever the change, big or small, tell us about what led to your first sale.

Hi! I made my first sale after I started to share my work and links to my shop on social media. I remember the sale coming through Facebook specifically. It was to a Facebook friend, but she truly needed the item. From there, things started to snowball (hard to believe it after just one sale) and the sales started to add up. Another important factor was that I focused in on one type of item for my shop. It was the most amazing feeling. I'd had other business before, but this was the first time that I was selling items I made myself. My shop has evolved over time. It was always focused on textiles and is now at a place where I love what I'm doing, which is designing and making textile memory and memorial necklaces.

I felt so happy. At the moment I´m not selling very much and somteimes I´m a bit discouraged. I lost my "normal job" due to the covid virus restictions so I keep on trying with my shop!
