How can I increase my visibility?

Hello,

I am a printmaker working in my studio almost every day. I have been on etsy for a really long time but have never really grasped how to gain visibility on this site. I feel as though I am just floating somewhere near the middle of a deep ocean of sellers on here.

Can anyone provide me with tips or advice on how to actually be seen on this site?

Thank you,
Kyle Bryant

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

You probably need to read up on Etsy's Relevancy search and general SEO best practices.

Here is a good place to start: https://www.etsy.com/teams/10713/etsy-relevancy-seo-and-stats/discuss/12499020/

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

I've been trying really hard to tag my items according to the SEO guidelines.. But after an entire day of trying to search for my items.. I can't find even one of my necklace hangers.. I am also on the $14 a week budget for etsy search ads.. It's really discouraging, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or who to ask for help. So here I am, any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

Marie, I pinned one of your necklace hangers, find them to be very unique, hope it helps.
I'm in the same boat, trying hard to be found.

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

Hi everyone,

I'm still new here so have a lot to learn but one thing that's worked for me to at least get more views even though it hasn't led to any sales yet is my Facebook page.
I've added my Etsy store details to the about section.

Here's my link if you'd like to have a look:

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

I would suggest joining one of the SEO teams. Here is a good one, with helpful discussions for for those just beginning with SEO:

Until your titles and tags are optimized, you are going to have a hard time getting found.

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

I am active with teams making treasuries and faving each other items. I don't know wheter it is for this or not but in 3 months I got 13 sales and my items are not unique, you can find a lot of them similar here in Etsy. Why they have chosen me? I don't know and 4 of these 13 sales were to Etsy Sellers!

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

Kyle,

There are so many changes you could make to your shop and listings that would greatly improve your shop's visibility on both Etsy and on Google.

Most searches on the Internet, and within Etsy, start with keywords. It is essential to the success of your shop that you learn what the words are that shoppers are using to look for items like yours.

Just starting with Etsy SEO, in this listing for example:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/188046245/hand-made-barcelona-linocut-burning
there are no really popular keywords that shoppers would use. Some of us do not know what a linocut is and would not use that word to look for prints like yours. Your prints, though, are very good and very interesting. You would sell these more if they could be found by your target market.

Here is a very short list of keywords that I found on Google Adwords Keyword Planner. The number on the right is the average number of monthly searches on Google for each of these keywords. These are the words that shoppers use.

black and white wall art 1600
block printing 1900
lino print 260
linocut 2400
linocut art 50
linocut artists 90
linocut print 90
linocut prints 170
linoleum block print 110
linoleum block prints 110
print wall art 50
wall art 49500

Use a few of these keywords in the listing title and tags, such as,
Handmade Barcelona linocut print, linoleum block print, black and white wall art "Burning Cannabis Nonchalantly"

This kid of listing title using these keywords will help your listings get found more often on both Google and on Etsy.

There is a lot more to SEO and Relevancy that you should learn and apply to your shop. The views to your shop and listings will really go up.

I suggest dropping the FREE SHIPPING words from your listings if you want all of your listings to be included in Google's Google Shopping App: www.google.com/shopping which does not allow promotional words like FREE SHIPPING.

My SEO Team does SEO Reviews and we would be happy to help you further if you like; https://www.etsy.com/teams/11352/relevancy-and-seo-for-all-etsy-shops

Re: How can I increase my visibility?

Thanks Mary. I am currently trying to take your advice on my newer prints but it's quite difficult to find the right things to say about my older work.
