How are my prices? Be honest, I won't bite! :)

I'm hoping for an honest critique on my prices. Too high? Too low? If there are specific items please let me know about that too. Try if you can to think like a buyer, not focusing on how much my materials may have cost, how long it may have taken me to make it, etc...again, just try to take it from a buyer's perspective, if that makes sense. :)

Really, be honest! Honesty is what I'm after!

Thanks in advance,
Zoe

Zoe, I'm not the expert. I just don't like people sitting too long for a reply. (giggles)
I'd say raise them. I was just told my prices are too low. I had some one critique and tell me that they wouldn't buy from me because some of them were too low. < get that ?
And I assume the" formula" is the same for jewelry. Someone told me to use the formula and just raise it enough to make yourself a bit uncomfortable. Still learning that.
Good luck.
I do love your work. Nice pics too.

Nice touch on the photo frame of how you package!!! Extra care and touch! I like. Tells the customer how it is presented.

Thank you so much Sheri! :)
I have been told a couple of times to raise my prices, as well, it's just difficult to picture that helping me! Hopefully I'll get enough feedback from this thread to make me confident enough to change them up or down!

Zoe, your prices seem reasonable to me and at a price point that people would be willing to purchase.

^ there you go :)
I always take into account the shipping tacked on too. Sometimes that makes people count.
Hang in there and your designs are nice.

Re: How are my prices? Be honest, I won't bite! :)

I say raise them too, your work is alot more complicated than mine and people still tell me to raise my prices.
If i was to buy somthing like yours in a 'real shop' it would cost more than that.

this one especially seems a bit too cheap

also this one id expect to pay more like $25

Zoe, I would agree. I think you can stand to raise them a bit.

Re: How are my prices? Be honest, I won't bite! :)

Thanks to those of you who've responded so far! I have actually raised them already, looks like I might need to do that again!

I sell my jewelry locally as well, and I have to price it much cheaper than it is on Etsy in order to make it move. I know Etsy is different, so I'll have to adjust to that!

I'm sorry I'm still bumping this up, but I could really use some more advice.

Trust me Flavia, I definitely understand your hesitation! I have been told to raise mine, that people won't buy from someone whose prices are too low, etc. but I also need to be competitive. It's not easy.

I agree that you can raise your prices a little. I struggle with pricing also and I think many sellers set there prices to low.

Do you think I should raise them all? Any specifics? Thanks!

I think your prices seem reasonable, very affordable. If I were looking to buy that type of jewelry I wouldn't be able to say no to your shop. Your photos are amazing and everything looks so clean and crisp.

You have beautiful things. I think you could stand to have most of the earrings (perhaps all of them) somewhere in the low $20s. Pricing is a difficult thing, and I know I definitely don't have a handle on it.

Re: How are my prices? Be honest, I won't bite! :)

It's so difficult though! I mean I see sellers who are getting crap loads of sales and their stuff is like $2 - $5. I've priced mine so that supplies and my time are covered and I make a small profit. I wanna be competitive and I don't want to raise my prices, especially since I'm not getting any sales!
I'd offer advice but I don't have any. To me, your items look reasonably priced, well photographed and overall just lovely.

If you are happy with your sales and profit, leave them alone, if not raise them.

I think your prices are very fair. And I love your photos. I think I remember the success videos using your shop?

Re: How are my prices? Be honest, I won't bite! :)

Hi Zoe,

I just checked out your shop (which is a favorite of mine). At this point, your prices look good to me. I LOVE your jewelry and may purchase in the future, however as a buyer I would prefer the if pendents were on a nice chain. As Michelle mentioned during the online lab when critiquing your shop. I would be more likely to buy if the necklace was complete (stone and chain). If you add a chain you could increase your prices a bit. Beautiful store and clean photos!

Re: How are my prices? Be honest, I won't bite! :)

HI Zoe,

You make fantastic, intricately designed jewelry and I love them. Now from my perspective as a "shopper", the items just don't pop off the page for me. I've seen a bunch of advice on using white background, but I my opinion, that only seems to work with large, colorful items. The leaves and twigs you show with the item really doesn't do much if you're trying to indicate some sort of size relationship. The leaves and branches could be any size...I just don't know. I personally think if the items were actually modeled, then I could get a truer perspective of how they look on a person, and more effective size relevancy. Also, I agree with Kathleen, include a chain. I find it very annoying when I have to shop for two items to make one gift! It is well worth my time to pay the extra few dollars to get a complete accessory.

Your prices are great, maybe a bit underpriced considering the time and attention to detail you give your items, but adding the chain will give you incentive to raise your prices slightly without feeling guilty doing so.

I hope I'm not being too harsh or picky, but you're off to a great start. I do honestly love your jewelry.

Bear Hugs and Happy Sewing,
Roanne
