How Many Hours do you Spend on Etsy?

Hi everyone...
starting up a business, even an Etsy business, sure is time consuming! I'm finding myself wracked with guilt as a balance being a mommy with this new endeavor.

How many hours do y'all spend on Etsy every day? 1? 10? :)

I'm hoping as my shop gets more "out there" I can decrease the time in front of the computer screen!

I am online from the time I wake up till about midnight...well that's how it seems! I spend a lot of time with the laptop open next to me, usually with baby in my lap and my 3 year old pushing trains around the living room. After breakfast we shower, go to the post office and have a small outing to the mall, zoo or park for a couple hours. Then come home for lunch and usually spend the rest of the day inside.

I am always connected though, responding to convos on my iphone when out and about. I usually process orders during my 7month olds nap time, and I paint after both kids go to sleep around 9.

It's a lot more work than a 'day job' but at least I am my own boss! I can take a day off if I need to, I can paint in my PJ's and I don't have to have my kids in childcare. (but I am looking forward to when they get school age so I have more time)

Too many! Sometimes I feel like I get nothing else done! Then I justify it by saying to myself that promoting my shop is important. But is addictive!

Realistically, I set time goals to help myself stay on track. One hour for this, 30 minutes for that. I can stay on here 2-4 hours easy without a break. But I'm also tweeting and blogging my stuff and other etisans.

I probably put in anywhere from 30-80 minutes ...a day. I can't live off my computer or internet lol.

I spend more time trying to be involved in the community than actually working in/on my shop.

Think we all put in a lot of time because its our babies we are pushing for visibility, appreciation and sales!

My hubby and I work as a duo so we allocate each other tasks to be responsible of.
By day, we concentrate on our design business otherwise our clients will be breathing down our necks.
Come night, we are so happy to be with our beads, jump rings and Etsy/Twitter, etc.
But these days, we would "multi-task" during the day to check in on Etsy community, treasuries, etc, like a 5-minute (that would stretch to 15-min) of break time. ;)

Usually I spend 8 10 hrs. with painting in between, If I have orders to pack, post office..thats in the daytime, EST...now Im developing an evening routine of checking treasuries, seeing relisting and listing from other time zones..etc, My kids are grown and my husband works evenings so it works out....I also make time for running ang swimming to keep a relationship with the outside world...LOL

Yep, 6 to 8 hrs a day promoting, editing, renewing, marketing, forums, teams and making stuff. That really wears me out but, what the hay? I've nothing better to do. LOL

ummm online at least 2 hours
making items another 2-3 hours or days depending on the process of making an item "perfect"

At least 10-12 hours a day!
I take some breaks so I can spend some time with my Musketeers, but lots of hours are logged.

I would guess I am on Etsy/internet 3 to 5 hours a day. Would like it to be less, but there is so much to internet marketing. I have barely scraped the surface with that amount of time.

All I can manage, I am also a mum of three so I don't have a lot of free time. I recently decided to stop working on weekends as I was becoming a real etsy/computer addict.

I spend about an hour or two each day. Usually looking at treasuries, adding people to my circle, and renewing or adding items to my shop.

My youngest started college last Fall, so thank goodness I now have the time to work on here. I spend at least 8 hours a day on here....not all at once. I think if I had young children, I would have to spend early mornings and late nights on here with maybe some time during their naps. The older your children get, the busier you get and you would think it would be the opposite. Time management is a big deal when you have young ones. Enjoy as much time with your children as you can because as everyone used to tell me, the time they are young flies by.
