Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

My goal is to optimize my workflow so that I can use my time efficiently to create. I'm currently working on a beautiful christmas packaging for my items and want to stock up to 100 items. Also very important for me: Find really good packaging material to ship my items safer!

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

My Goals Overall: To grow my business (very unique eh : ) ) I have had steady growth for the last few months, but there is always room for improvement. I should set an amount that I want to make and focus on that lately I just do what I can in between all my priorities and Etsy. I feel busy all the time. One reason I signed up for this. To have assignments to focus on.

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

Just signed up. This is my first holiday season on Etsy so I am a bit nervous of what to expect...October has been very busy for me already and I can't image how I am going to manage all of my orders in Nov/Dec. At this point it seems impossible.

Goals--

1. Get 150 items listed by October 31st and try to keep 150 items in my shop throughout the holiday season.
2. Learn to wrap my products faster...This seems to be a big time consuming task at the moment and I am trying to learn how to wrap nicely and do it fast!
3. Order more shipping boxes in larger sizes. I seem to have more people ordering multiple pieces and my current boxes just aren't big enough..bubble wrap takes up so much room!
4.Order A LOT of more bubble wrap so I don't run out...I go through so much of it.
5. Last I want to get some shelves built in my studio so I can start making multiples of my popular pieces to keep them stocked and be able to ship them faster and have more time to create new pieces!

Best of luck to everyone! : )

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

I just overhauled the look of the majority of my listings with new photos. This week's goal is to work on SEO so I am driving more traffic to my shop. It finally is starting to look the way I've always dreamed it could. Now I need to really get found here and beyond.

My monthly goals are:
Continue taking the updated photos for current listings
Order packaging materials from the shipping suppliers
Stock up on my 'thank you gifts' that are included in my holiday packaging
Order holiday thank you post cards for my current and past customers
Send out an e-newsletter blast to my mailing list
Pitch my shop to a couple of blogs. (This one is the beast untamed for me - yikes!)

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

We have a real backlog of goods in my corner of the world - after moving this summer the Etsy shop took a backseat and it's time to start using it to supplement our income again - the ultimate goal is to have at least one of our incomes be provided by a stay-at-home business.

That being said, I've set up a photo studio in the garage with cohesive design (gray and white striped chevrons + white) so that the shop looks more professional. On weekends we will be shooting our hearts out. My goal is to shoot at least 20 items every weekend and list four a night every week night to keep the shop constantly fresh.

Financially, we are hoping to reach at least $1,000 in sales with crafts by the end of the year (includes craft fairs, etc.) without having to make any new work (for the time being!)

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

4 new items listed by Oct. 31st. Since none of them are actually completed, and this goal sounds tiny, for me, it's kind of large.

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

My goals are to change all 75 of my listings and to make it up to 100 listings.

First goal is do-able this week, second one, I'm going to say by Halloween, you can hold me to that!!

If I haven't done it, please reprimand me!

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

My shop opened three weeks ago and I was lucky enough to make the first sale on the 10th day of opening! I want to follow this as an encouragement and plan:

-5 additional sales in the next three weeks;
-designing new products to fill my first page with products;
-team on Etsy to learn from peer shop keepers and gain visibility

LOL. Well, I've set my goal of listing at least 150 items, but I can't say I've made much progress toward it.

Re: Holiday Boot Camp Week One: Set a Goal

My biggest goal is to list at least 50 more items in October. Then I will have 100 items in my store. I have lots of jewelry ready to photograph and other items ready to make. Another goal is to be ready for a craft show in November. Fortunately, I have a lot of my "to do" list accomplished so I can focus on my Etsy store.
My biggest mystery is this: my sterling silver extenders sell quite well, so why don't my other items sell as well?
