Help with missing order

Please delete if not allowed but I was looking for some help from fellow sellers on Etsy, I have tried searching forums but cant find anything quite like it, anyway I have just had a message from a customer to say he never received his item usually I go into double checking the address etc... and if it is well and truely lost refund or replace but this order was from February 2015 it's not even something I stock anymore! What are people's thoughts on this I just can't understand why someone would wait that long he said he has been checking his post every single day for it, that's over three years!

Really strange case, dear Jackie! Hm. Did she/he opened any case/claim against you on Etsy or PayPal or anywhere? If no, I don't really understand why she/he disturb you.
Did you sent that item with registered trucking nr. ? (It is very sugested way to protect the 'postal- way' of items, but - okay - they didn't protect you from strange cosumers. 😊

Thank you for your response :) definitely a strange one, no he hasn't opened any case at all just a DM this morning, unfortunately I don't send my international orders tracked it would cost a ridiculous amount from the UK :( but I do mark all my envelopes with a return address just in case and so far I think I have only had around 1 or 2 go fully missing and I have been trading for 5 years but in each of these cases I just refunded/replaced as they let me know within a couple of months at most, I just can't understand why anyone would wait 3 years before saying they didn't recieve an order you wouldn't do it at a online retail store and expect anything to come of it, I am worried that if I don't refund it he will leave me bad feedback and I strive so much to keep my 5 star rating

I don't know if he could give you any feedback after 3 years ... ? Isn't there any time limit? I don't know. Maybe try to find forums for this answer.

Oh, here is the answer: 'Once this combined time span has passed, you'll have 100 days to leave a review for your order. After the 100-day window expires, you won't be able to leave a review.'
I never read or deal with this issue, but is good to know ... so, don't worry :)

That seems crazy... 3 years? for 1095 days he's been checking his mail and just wanted to let you know now? I believe he can't leave you a review, I just looked at my past purchases on my old account and cant leave review on one that is 1.5 years old.
