Help!! What is the new "Listing Variations?"

I sell candles, both pillars and soy in containers. It is a surprise for me to see something new when listing a new item. Please help me figure out what I should put in the category of "listing variations" and what is the purpose. Oyyy, I hate change!! Thank you so much for your time.

Like, if you were offering different colors of candles using the same listing, and you wanted to give customers the option of choosing that color. Instead of having to write in the Notes to Seller section, they could use the pull down menu that's created when you use the listing variations option. Pretty cool, eh?

I just noticed that today too. There's a link next to the variations section that explains what it's used for. If you're offering the buyer a choice (color, size, etc) you would use listing variations when setting up your listing. According to the explanation, a buyer can't get to checkout until they select their choice. I think it's great for buyers who offer choices in their listings. I've seen a lot of frustration here from sellers in the past because the buyer failed to tell the seller what they want.

If you're not offering any type of choice in your listing you can ignore that.

In my shop I use it for different cord colors and different ring and bracelet sizes. You don't have to have variations in every listing though, you can leave it blank...

Just went through and edited my listings with variations...sometimes its a blessing to have not enough inventory, haha
