Help! I need your tips and advice.

Hi

I started on etsy about a month ago, and have only gotten 3 sales so far and they were all on the same thing - the anchor necklace. Not many people are liking my facebook page or twitter, nor are people adding me to their circle.
Any tips to improve sales and traffic? Thanks!

I would recommend being active in teams, specifically a treasury team, to get added to circles. I'd also work on your tags. Rather than one word phrases such as 'brass' and "owl,' try putting together phrases that a buyer might search for, like 'bronze owl ring' or something similar.

Also, I'd be careful about referring to your pieces as vintage or antique as you do in your titles. Vintage on Etsy means more than 20 years old. Just because a charm has that faux-antiqued finish does not make it antique in any way. It can be misleading to put in a title or description.

Good luck!

Hi Christine! I think you're off to a great start. I think my first month I had gotten 1 sale. But it was a huge learning curve, and this was probably back in 2007? So things have changed. Definitely read up on search terms and how to get found in the searches. Also I did notice right off the bat that your photos are a little off skew. As in some of them are cut off at a strange part of the picture. Did you intend this?

In photoshop I make my pixels 170 wide x 135 long to insure that my pics fit EXACTLY into the gallery view (this is just for the ratio, my actual photos are at least 1000 pixels wide)

Also it's getting to be the time of year (for the usa anyways) where people are out doing their spring gardening and cleaning and such, it will pick up for a bit in april and may and then go back down for june and july. i notice that every single year.

good luck!
