Help Analyzing Success of a Particular Item

I opened my shop in April but things have really "taken off" for me this fall. I put "taken off" in quotes bc as a stay at home mom my definition of success might be different than those who do this full time.

Anyway, my success largely stems from this wreath:

The above wreath was on the first page of the search term "fall wreath" for a long time, and this is why I think it has sold well. However, I have several variations of these wreaths which haven't done nearly as well. Such as this wreath:

As I turn my focus to my winter line, I would love any input as to what you think I did to make the orange wreath successful vs the other wreath. That way I can try to replicate the success with some of my winter wreaths.

Thank you so much, I have gotten so much help from this group!

Re: Help Analyzing Success of a Particular Item

Part of its success would be that its on the first page of a search for 'fall wreath'.

The way the Etsy relevancy search returns results is that it tries not to show more than one item from each shop in the first few pages of a large search in order to give all shops an equal chance at being found.

So with such a generic search of 'fall wreath' has over 15,000 items in the results

When I search your shop for the phrase 'fall wreath' it brings up all sorts of items, many of which aren't wreaths. Some things that come up in a search for 'fall wreath' are 'large felt acorns', 'craft more and save' among other things.

So if I were looking for a fall wreath and saw those items I would bypass your shop completely.

Re: Help Analyzing Success of a Particular Item

Thanks, I just want to make sure I am not missing something "glaring" that could explain why my orange wreath took off while the others did not.

The other items are just tagged/ titled with fall wreath bc they are wreath making supplies, shipping a wreath is expensive and some ppl just prefer to buy the supplies and DIY, it doesn't bother me that they don't get the same views as my actual wreaths.

Re: Help Analyzing Success of a Particular Item

I have not looked at your other items, but in my opinion, the orange wreath looks more 'fall-ish" than the purple one. Also, I think the leaves coordinate better with the orange base than the purple one.

Re: Help Analyzing Success of a Particular Item

maybe (additionally to what gina said) people are more traditional so when it comes to fall they want orange wreaths and not purple ones?? (not all of course)

Re: Help Analyzing Success of a Particular Item

I guess I'll focus some of my winter designs on traditional colors then :)
