Has anyone noticed USPS tracking not working?

I have had a few convos recently from customers needing help tracking their packages as USPS.com hasn't even entered the info into system. I know it takes a while but they are extremely slow lately or there is something wrong with their system :( Could it be because of the summer holidays?

Can anyone help?

yes I noticed that , you get a USPS tracking number but it does not work,
every time I send an insured package and pay extra for it too. It does get there though.

I have noticed that when you try to track something via Etsy it often doesn't update, but if you keep clicking on the blue number as each new page comes up you get deeper into the system until you hit the actual USPS site and that IS updated, so it may be an Etsy issue not a USPS one....?

USPS changed their manner of tracking. They now adhere tacking labels to each package and the tracking # that appears on the receipt looks different.

You can usually just copy/paste a tracking number into your web browser address bar, and google it. You will hit the USPS tracking service and show the official tracking. I very rarely even bother with the Etsy tracking displays.
