Has anyone ever had views from Ripoff Reports.com?!!

Hi everyone,
I am an honest hardworking stay at home mom. I just saw that I had 3 views on my stats page showing they stemmed from this website called Ripoff Reports.com.

What does that mean? Does that mean that someone put me on the site? I did a search but didn't find anything for my shop. Just a little disturbed and not sure if it is a scam site.

Help! Has anyone ever heard anything about that site? Or had problems with it? If anyone has any issues with my items I would be HAPPY to refund them or make them something until they are fully satisfied with their purchase.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.

Trying not to worry...

Thanks!
Monica

Hi, Monica.

I'd never heard of that website before, but your question got me curious. This is what I found: http://www.reportsripoff.com/ripoffreportscam.php

For all I know, that thing I just linked to could ALSO be a scam or unreputable, but it seems like what it's saying is that the website you mentioned isn't useful at all -- it's full of allegations that are unsubstantiated, anonymously sourced, and impossible to erase. I guess that's the nature of the internet...but I'd say that anyone coming to your shop is probably a good thing, even if they come from such a ridiculous source, because once they're there, you'll have a chance to convince them that you're a reputable seller and maybe even make a sale or two.

People are curious -- I believe you can use that to your advantage, even though if it were me, I'd be super frustrated by this experience.

Thank you Alicia! That is encouraging. Good point about any views are good views.
It was just bothersome to me to see that.
I hope it was nothing.
Thanks!

I do know about that site - it's where people can go write complaints about businesses. BUT, all that means in your stats is that someone was there before coming to esty. It doesn't mean your shop was on there, just something about etsy, so no worries :)

I actually searched the site and your shop didn't come up. Like Elise said, it's probably just people who were there before coming to Etsy.

At the top of their homepage it says they're been described as the National Enquirer antidote to the BBB. That pretty much says it all.

Re: Has anyone ever had views from Ripoff Reports.com?!!

Hello Everyone :

In Jan of 2012 I did an interview with Fox News called Google-cide. It detailed how a group of online reputation management companies were creating disturbing content about businesses and people to create customers to then have the information removed.

That is why Fox News called it Google-cide. It might be that you are about to be targeted by the Online thugs.

I posted about this on Ripoff Report to warn the public and here is that article :

If your business is attacked contact me as I can give you a list of the players involved and the businesses they own.
