Getting the blame for USPS

Ok so bottom line, USPS has been messing up a lot lately and who's getting the blame? Well me of course. My customers are demanding I do something and demanding refunds. I don't know what to do. Advice?

The only thing you can do is refund (or replace) their order.

Make sure you either ensure your packages, or do self-ensurance, by including a certain amount to your product prices tho cover losses like this.

I always add insurance to everything that I ship even though there is insurance already, I add more. And I make sure of the address several times is correct.

The Post Office has been closing more processing centers which, I believe, is causing the problem. I was replacing but then the originals showed up. I'm telling my customers that it's taking longer and with the items that appear stuck or lost I'm contacting the Post Office and updating the customer. That's all you can do really. If at a certain point it does seem to be legitimately lost then the Post Office will reimburse you and you can refund or replace, whatever you and the customer decide on.

Just to clarify, none of the packages have been lost, just delayed. I think Ida you offer a great suggestion to put it in my message.

Also none of the packages have been delayed 3-4 weeks, we're talking 1-2 weeks

I would not refund or replace until USPS concedes it is lost - sounds like you have some customers who are feeling winterbound and slightly edgy :) Sorry for the hassle you have been having. Hang in there - this winter is bound to go away eventually! :)

Yes, a package of mine took forever to arrive.
Lots of factors play in shipping, weather and USPS reconfiguring things this year slow down things a bit.

I have had over a dozen priority mail packages delayed this month. I think it has been because of the weather. I have never seen so many packages getting sent to the wrong state to be re routed and delayed as well.

I will give the link to usps tracking to the customer so they see the package was scanned by the post office the very day it's sent.

My medicine got stuck at the regional sorting center for 10 days! We could see where it was, called the office and it arrived the next day. If the tracking shows where it is you can call and give them a friendly nudge.

Wow Lori, that is incredible! Yes, packages are taking forever to arrive! I sent one domestic and 2 international. The international ones made it out of the country via the town where the domestic should've been delivered before the domestic had even arrived there. I guess not only weather affects the post office, but something else...
