Getting nervous

So...for the past 3 days, people keep buying things from me. Obviously this is not a bad thing, but I ship from Canada and the cut-off to get items to the US for xmas has passed.

I mention this in my shop announcement and my policies, and I send each buyer a convo also stating that it could take 3-4 weeks depending on customs, but I have this bad feeling that on December 23rd I will get a bunch of messages asking where their shipment is.

People don't seem to read my policies or notice I'm from Canada...this happens quite often. I'm just curious--do you guys look at these things before you buy?

Re: Getting nervous

I certainly do but I know there are a number of buyers who don't or can't be bothered. I would just deal with it if it comes and hope it doesn't!

Re: Getting nervous

I have just the opposite problem. I'm expecting emails from my Canadian buyers wondering where there products are even though I say in my policies that it can take up to a month for stuff to arrive.

Guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Re: Getting nervous

Have you tried include a short blurb in each listing? Using Craftopolis (www.craftopolis.com) you can add a sentence or two to the beginning or ending of any of your listings all at once. (You can't delete them there though, you have to edit them one by one in Etsy if you want to change it).

Its unfortunate that some people don't realize that location and timing matter :/ I hope you don't get all those convos on the 23rd!

Re: Getting nervous

As long as you've got it in your policies, and announcement, and you are letting them know through convos, there isn't much else you can do.
Hope it all goes well for you! :)

Re: Getting nervous

I absolutely look at those things but being a seller, I'm atuned to it.
Remember though, that not all gifts will be given on Christmas day. Some families don't get together till the week after.

Re: Getting nervous

Very true Sue...let's just hope that is the case. I'm just a bit of a worrier! Thanks for the craftopolis tip Kirstin, I may try that!

Re: Getting nervous

Kristin - thanks for the heads up on craftopolis - never heard of it ! I too get nervous about Christmas deliveries and post office dealines - especially since almost all my sales are custom orders this time of year. I change the "please allow x-x days from payment to shipping" for your item to be knit" based on pending number of orders - and posted a Christmas Delivery Deadline in my announcements - and just yesterday I get a message to seller "In time for Christmas Please" I contacted her and gently pointed outthe listing info and shop announcement, and promised to due my best to get it in the mail Dec. 19th (I have 12 orders ahead of her!) - If I can do that - the rest will be up to the Post Office !
