Hi Team,

Many of you have already heard – Etsy search now defaults by relevancy. HeyMichelle and I are working on a blog post to help you get the most out of this change. In addition to this great post by Natalie, "Putting Your Shop on Top : Etsy’s Most Relevant Search"

I put up two new listing today...thinking that I am following the new "Relevancy" and 4 -5 hours later NO views....just another point on the fact that I think I need SO much help.
Ugh...what to do???

Hello! I'm a new etsy user and absolutely love it! I currently have a shop that is called thehitowercollection (THC) and I have been a member for 1 month! I feel as though my pieces are one of a kind and would bring more traffic but that is not the case! I have tried to use the tips by making my descriptions as clear and unique as possible, however, nothing has brought more people to shop! I get great feedback from people in real life but not on etsy. I feel that I could definitely use your help! Thank you!

Oh! Pick me! I’ve been selling on Etsy since 2008 and only now am I starting to get some regular business.

What I’ve done:
- Title: Clear and simple with the product type and item
- Recency: I try to renew one item 4-5 times a week (I think this has made the most impact)
- Tags: Still unclear if I can use a phrase Like “green apple” or if I should go “green”, “apple” not sure how to maximize this but I always use all tags that are available. I’ve also gotten more descriptive with my tags (size, texture, style)
- Pictures: Gained consistency with my look so
- Branding: Working on defining my style as an artist
- Sponsored Items in Section: Tried it a few times without much success
- Promotion through social media: I think this has really helped

ok, so I will admit I get tired of reading all of the information that comes along, but my new challenge to m yself is to read read read read... ok so once i thought titles were supposed to be catchy and unique, now I understand they need to have more revelent tags in the title. so now changing all of my title listing to have more descriptive tags but the titles sound jumbled and too long. I have studied etsy shops than have high sales and are susccessful and I have a lot of the same tags. So now I am not sure if it is in my titles or if it is in my tags....confused and ready for a change! I am ready to polish my shop and quit my day job!!!

My shop is gaining more and more visitors but I would love to see these inqueries turn into orders. Partly because I have used some of the tips regarding keywords, describing my items and I have also teamed with bloggers for a feature and offer a free product. In 2 1/2 months I have 20 orders. I am excited but want to keep the momentum.

I actually started an experiment by changing a few of my items tag words using the advice you have given us, and I have noticed increased views and likes! I have been trying to be more specific with my keywords/tags and I think that has helped some, but I feel like I am still missing some major tag words/phrases. I would absolutely LOVE some help!!! That would be pawtastic!

I have tried to work on my tags and descriptions to better reflect the specific content of each listing, but I still feel like my view stats have no rhyme or reason (besides the fact that my most recent listings always have the highest views--renewals, in other words). I feel that I still do not understand SEO enough to really be getting all I can from the relevancy searches and would love to find an alternative to frequent renewing, as that seems like the only strategy that works for me.

I have all the titles starting with a product name, so this wont help i guess based on the new changes. How do we do we have a product name but yet make it search friendly

My biggest issue is very low traffic, but then the products are not really somebody would search for, i would need to start over with the title

I could definitely use some help. I've worked on re-vamping my tags and descriptions, including a basic "material color type" description in my titles. I also went thru adn changed my listings to include the new information that is required with the new listings... such as who made it, who is it for etc. My views seem a whole heck of a lot lower than they used to be and I don't know if it's the season changing with school starting or that my tags and descriptions are not getting me hits under the new relevancy search.

I would like to know what I need to improve on to be seen more frequently in searches...is it my titles, my tags....I feel like a I have a great product to sell, but just don't have enough people viewing my items right now.

I am sure I am needing some help here!

I have seen a decline in views and sales. I used to get clicks about 20+ an hour. now, when I arrive home after a long day at my " real " job. I have another task of tiding my shop. I check on my " circles" activity and notice on average, in the past 14 hours only 4 items favorited. That is WAY off the mark. Not sure how to proceed! . i have renewed items, changed titles and have been reviewing my tags and removing and changing tags for each listing. it is a slow process.

as an aside, I am leader for a large vintage team and I know It would be great to share any info you can help me with... with my 1700 + members!

I can use some of your help as well.. I always wonder when other jewelry sellers get 2-3 sales every day, I get 1 every week or so. very disappointing for sure.

I have tried to change the tags and titles to see if it affects my view count and eventually sales.. I would much appreciate your feedback....

I could use some help. I've been reading all the tips I can get my hands on for the last month and a half and changing my shop per advice, but I still haven't made any sales. I've tried changing my titles and descriptions for SEO (though I'm not sure I've done it 100% correctly), I've been carefully choosing my tags, promoting via twitter/facebook/flickr/blogspot, approaching other blogs for features and offering reader discounts, working on branding, shop info/policies as well as improving my photography and adding items regularly.
I'm not sure what else I need to do, but I would like some advice from those who might be able to see what it is.

I wouldn't mind having some help. I'm kind of new and have been utilizing tags and descriptions to the best of my ability. Still, it seems that views and sales are a little low, considering what I can sell at a fair or house party. All the same, I am really enjoying being here and look foward to growing. I've been tweaking the shop and it's coming along. I have also created 3 treasuries to which, most of the shop owners of the items included stopped by to give a shout out. Etsy's like a community of great, friendly crafters and I'm lovin' the interactions!

I've tried so many things to get tons of views on my items, like listing clear and descriptive titles, adding as many tags as possible and trying to re-list things often. However, I still feel like I could use some help with making my shop look professional as well as gain the knowledge of how to keep it relevant.

Usually once people see my items, and they're looking for something like them, they will buy it and are very happy with it, so I guess if I can get my items S P R E A D out for everyone to see, I will be more successful!!

I would love some help, yes please!

I have been working really hard and experimenting with the use of different tags and keywords, often trying out new titles to see if that affects my shop views and stats. I have been recording everything on a spreadsheet and tracking how my shop stats are doing, by date and time - yes I am a little pedantic.

I would love some more help and feedback to make sure that I am doing as much as I can for my shop to actually be discovered :)

Are you still looking for volunteers? I changed all of my titles on the day that Natalie's post came out. I didnt see much difference initially, but lately I've noticed that visitors to my store are looking at more of my items when they visit.

I would love to get some help! I believe that I am pretty efficient at my shop and item setup. I'm going to open another shop here on Etsy pretty soon to sell a different line of product and I would love for the opening of that store to be more of a big splash than a whimper!
