Many of you have already heard – Etsy search now defaults by relevancy. HeyMichelle and I are working on a blog post to help you get the most out of this change. In addition to this great post by Natalie, "Putting Your Shop on Top : Etsy’s Most Relevant Search"

I would love some help! I've been working on my listing titles and tags (I've found the new Shop Stats very helpful) but still feel I'm falling short. I think I have a handle on what to do, but would really appreciate a professional eye giving my shop the once-over. Please!

I really believe my shop needs help and would really appreciate your valuable insights.
I have tried hard with My titles by trying to describe my items as i think a buyer would see them but i get very low views so am sure i don't have this right and also with tagging to, i believe i am not hitting on the right tag words, i try and think of terms that should pull my shops into searches using things like colours, or trying to describe my character, but as i said low views.

My shop could definitely use some help!
I've changed tags, and titles to be more search-friendly and have organized all my items into helpful and specific sections within my shop to try to make my customer's shopping experience a little easier to navigate. But I still don't feel like I'm being as accurate or relevant as I can be.
I always try to put myself in my buyer's shoes to try to make my shop the best it can be, but I would be very appreciative of any extra help I can receive to improve my shop.

I think I might need help with becoming relevant. I recently just went through all of my titles... I sell art so my titles WERE the name of the painting, but I switched them to say things I thought would make me more relevant like, "Original Oil Painting" or "Original Textured Palette knife Painting" But I did leave the name of some of my paintings in some of the titles, but at the end of it, not sure if that takes away from relevancy or not...

So, the tags or keywords are now changed to help with search phrases. So does this mean since "pink unicorn" was used as the example that things like "silver earrings" are fine now too because they describe the item better than silver and earrings separate?

Hi, I feel like my shop has extremely low views. I think my titles are clear and descriptive. Maybe no one is shopping for the things I make? I don't know. My friends order from me in person when I wear my own shirts and skirts and jackets. With Etsy's emphasis on mens stuff I would have thought my views would be through the roof on my mens shirts, but no. I need help.

I would LOOOVE a makeover, Danielle!!! I've been on Etsy since November, 2010 and honestly didn't begin to "get it" until maybe May/June. So I've been tweaking my photos (still have work to do, I know) and I've changed up titles to be more specific and to the point at the beginning (I think?) and I've worked on tags like crazy. I would really love some professional input. I put a lot of time into this shop working hours and hours on trying to make improvements. I know I can use more help. I would love to get some help with my shop.. I've tried to improve item titles and putting the more important words first; but I feel like I'm having a difficult time coming up with tags and descriptions that aren't repeated over all of my listings and it doesn't feel like my listings are being found. I think I'm having trouble finding the right tag words that would work best with my style.

I think that I could really use some help! I'm changing my items titles to be more relevant, but I have always felt that I need a lot of help with tags. For some reason I really struggle with those.

And yes, I have read the articles and tips and have changed some of my titles and I do renew a couple of items daily. I am using all of my tags.

I don't know how the new attributes play into the relevence, but most of my items do not fall into the style suggestions. I need "classic" as a choice. Maybe if you take a look, you can see some of the attributes coming into play - I feel like they are no good to me at all.

I wanted to add that in the article it says that words at the end of my titles have less weight so that makes me think that including the name of my painting at the end of a descriptive title won't hinder it's relevancy...:) Also I have yet to start renewing my older works but I see that recency still matters so I will have to get on that. I know as of now my older paintings have had little to no views in the past several weeks, so now I understand why.

My shop is still fairly new and I have been working on my Titles, tags, and Descriptions- but with no success. My view are still low and I am awaiting future sales. I'm still new at all this and have been tweaking my tags to be more similar to the ones that have been getting more listing views ( I've been using the new shop stats)
It would be great if I could get advice from someone who's had experience with this.

I know I'm doing much better now with my newer listings than I did with my old ones. I'll have to go back and update them now that relevancy is king!

There's always room for improvement though, so I'd love some tips. What I'm struggling with is walking the line between writing for Etsy's relevancy search, Google -and- us mere humans - it's a fine balance!

What I've really been focusing on is tagging with words and word pairs that I think people would search for. When I started out I'd tag with words that described my jewelry, but they weren't necessarily good search terms.

I'm also trying to repeat the main keywords for a given listing in both the title, description and tags. Hopefully without sounding tooo repetitive. ;)

I would totally love more views. I have no idea what happened but I went from a decent amount of views to almost nothing.
I have been selling since January.
I am not sure what search words would be more helpful.

I have played around w/ tags.
I have changed titles.
I worked on descriptions.

I feel like with the jewelry market so flooded her on Etsy, I always want to tag words that define what make me different. For example my recycled t shirt rose necklace is tagged with general tags like "necklace" "jewelry" "bib", etc. But also "t shirt" "recycled" "upcycled" and things like that.

However, I don't think people are nessasarily searching by those terms. Or if they are, maybe they are not actually looking for a necklace? I am having a hard time finding tags that fall within what people are looking for, but also make me different from everyone else.

Oh my, I would absolutely LOVE a makeover as well! I've changed titles, descriptions and tags, tried to put most relevant information first, have been paying attention to the shop stats to see what's being searched and altered tags accordingly, and have been renewing items daily based on the times that are most active for my shop (via shop stats info). I've continued to tweak everything, including photography almost on a daily basis.

Also been promoting like crazy and though my views and favoriting has increased some, it's been very minor. I'm at such a loss....

I have my Etsy shop for a few months now,
and steel didnt figure out how to "make it"...
I'm spending hours and hours on reading discussions, posts
and everything I can to get some improvements, but still - nothing...
I'll be thrilled to have some professional guiding like yours and wiling to do everything it takes.

* I know I'm doing something terribly wrong with the tags and names
because I used to have quite few views for every new listing I had
and now - I guess with the new system I have 0 views :(

You're more than welcome to help optimize my shop. I've taken my titles from very descriptive to just plain 'what someone would search for,' and tonight I'll be using terms from Google Keyword Tool and adding them within the description. I'm also renewing items in hopes of catching an eye or two, but I've honestly never seen my posting show up in the "Recently Listed" photos at the bottom of the Etsy page. Ahhhh, the mystery of Etsy success still eludes me, but I still try ... treasuries, teams, forums ... you name it, I'm trying it! Thanks for watching out for me and all the other creative optimists in the world :) And I just discovered "Shop Stats" today. Yippee!
