Fiverr.com ?

Has anyone ever used Fiverr.com services to promote their business before? It's an interesting site offering a range of services or products for $5... and after doing some searching on there, I found a few things that could be handy... such as flyer distribution, twitter retweets and so on...

Does anyone have any experience with this and is there anything you recommend?

Re: Fiverr.com ?

When I first started selling in earnest I used a Fiverr that blogged about me as an up and coming business and got a few sales off of it then as well as occasional traffic to this day. It's not quite the results they promised (a guarantee of 10 sales or something) but for $5 when my shop just needed to be seen I feel I got my money's worth.

I was actually debating another go at Fiverr promotion now that I'm so much more established.

Re: Fiverr.com ?

I don't use it for promotion because they may not be promoting to my target audience, so it could be a waste of money. However, product photography, product demonstration videos, and other more niche services could be to your advantage. It all depends on the service and the person's history.

I have never heard of it but for only 5 dollars sounds like worth a try.

Great to hear, Sabra! I've tested the waters with a retweet. It hasn't gone out yet, but I'd be interested to see if it makes an impact or not.

Has anyone tried to improve their SEO with the use of Fiverr? I'd love to hear about that.

Re: Fiverr.com ?

I have used it once before to have my item posted on a Facebook Page with many followers. It turned out to be a total waste of money. My item was posted at 3am midnight and new posts were posted every hour so my post ended up at the every bottom. Only few likes on that post, didn't do much.

Re: Fiverr.com ?

I did once and the person I paid promoted me on a facebook page devoted to... people with very concrete political views and extreme opinions. I won't say much more that than but it was Very interesting! It was five bucks, though, so it was worth it for my amusement ;~)

Re: Fiverr.com ?

I am a Fiverr seller myself and have also bought a few gigs from there. I sell a gig where I promote seller's Etsy shops and items on all of my social media platforms, including blog, and post one treasury with one of their items in it. I had one seller who bought the gig get about 5 sales right after I promoted for them!! If anyone wants to check it out here's the link: http://fiverr.com/kroksg/promote-your-etsy-shop--2

It's a great way to advertise because if you don't have much in your shop or aren't very good at using Etsy ads you can get a boost in views, favorites, and sales for a fraction of the amount you would have spent on ads.

Re: Fiverr.com ?

Well I purchased a retweet promotion and it was relatively successful... Although.. how do you consider a $5 promotion to be successful, I wonder? Looking at the facts, the tweet went out. It was retweeted 55 times (initially the first 17 were bots by the seller, and then they turned organic) and my views increased - and I got sales. That's not to say it was related though. I can't determine that.
