First Neutral... :L

Today I got my first neutral feedback, and I'm wondering whether this would turn away buyers.

The buyer didn't leave a reason along with the feedback- just an empty space and a neutral.
I'm a bit disappointed because I've seen sellers with hundreds of positives, and no neutrals or negatives. I feel, that with my sales count, this would leave a bad impression.

Would you reconsider buying from a seller if they had neutral feedback?

It wouldn't deter me from buying. Hang in there!

it looks like even though you got that neutral feedback it still says you are 100%. honestly, i don't even check most of the time to see what the feedback ratings are before I buy something.

I have bought things from some people with really bad feedback and just hoped it would be ok . And it was.....

Thanks guys :)...Just really disappointed for receiving a neutral this early on, still in the developing stages.

Re: First Neutral... :L

That sucks, but I really don't think it will deter anyone. I don't think that buyers on Etsy are as feedback conscious as Ebay buyers. Plus, if I saw a random neutral with no comment alongside all of your positive feedbacks with lovely comments, I'd just assume that he neutral was a fluke.

Thanks, it just feels like there's a stain on my record.
Would it be rude to send a convo just asking what went wrong and if I can do anything? I don't want to be rude but I'm curious to know what happened.

It might be worth asking, all in all you're only enquiring so you can learn from it! I'm sure they would understand that.

As for a neutral, I usually take a look and read what the buyer has to say. Most of the time I don't pay much heed to it :)

Re: First Neutral... :L

No worries. It would turn me away. If I saw most people left good feedback I wouldn't worry about it. :)

I get what your saying. It's a bummer to lose that 100% (I know it still says that) across the board feedback rating!

It's good to know that it doesn't matter too much- It's funny, when you don't get feedback, you wish you did, but when you do get neutral, you almost wish you hadn't! At least it's not a negative!

Re: First Neutral... :L

Amanda, the exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I have to say you're handling it much better than I did!

I emailed the buyer and asked her very politely what the reason was for her neutral. I explained that I have a 100% satisfaction guarantee on everything I sell and if there was a problem, I would have appreciated her letting me know so I could correct it.

I also pointed out that Etsy's Do's & Don'ts strongly suggest that a buyer attempt to contact a seller before leaving a Neutral or Negative feedback to see if there can be a resolution to the problem.

Then I explained to her that Etsy offers a "Kiss & Make Up" Feature that she could use to change her feedback.

I didn't expect much, but amazingly she changed it last night to a positive with no other communication, so I still have no idea why she left a neutral to begin with.

Re: First Neutral... :L

As it turns out, the charm bracelet chain was brittle and broke within the first week- This might be a fluke though, as I've sold many of these to friends and family and they are very durable.

The buyer complimented me on my charms and said that she could fix the bracelet herself, and agreed to kiss and make up. Thank you so much everyone, I'm so glad everything turned out well :)

Re: First Neutral... :L

I'd buy if I liked an item, I don't ever check the feedback before buying anyway.

I would convo....maybe you can communicate to the buyer that you want them to be totally satisfied with their purchase & turn the neutral into a positive....at least put your mind at ease.
Keep your head up! :)
