Yay! I can actually catch this one live :D

I know that Google utilizes the keywords that are put in to our shop sections, but how does Etsy use this information? Do the keywords in our shop sections have any effect on where our product listings show up within Etsy search results? Would love to know more!

Will join the webinar for sure - as a beginning I'm most interested to know how Etsy looks at tags vs. keywords, and whether keywords are looked at more/less in product titles or descriptions, etc. Where should I spend most of my time optimizing?

I read up on keywords when first joining Etsy last year. Wonder if there have been any big changes over the last year. Also, Do you change keywords around holidays (eg Valentine Gift or Mothers Day Gift) and/or around promotions. Also see lots of team names and even shop names in tags - does this really help?

Thank you for this very important lab.

How important is keyword order in titles, descriptions and tags?
Should commas be used between words and phrases in titles?
Is it beneficial to repeat the title word for word in the description before adding the rest of the text?
Does repeating keywords in a title hurt or help?
How many keywords are too many for a keyword phrase?

I'm looking forward to this! I'm never sure I'm using the right keywords. I guess my biggest question is: if I can only put in 13 keywords, how to I decide what 13 words are the most important in describing my item?

I'm excited to participate live. It will be fun. I sold for many years on an auction site, so I have a clue about keywords, but am really looking forward to learning how things work here on Etsy. We're getting ready to open our shop here.

The comments above mine have voiced what I'm looking forward to learning about, but I would also like to know what's not allowed, so to be sure I don't make any mistakes. For instance, is it alright to use the word "wedding" for an item that would be appropriate to use for a wedding, but is not solely a wedding item? Just as an example.

I also vote for information about how to access google keywords and a bit of how to use it (along with any other free or low cost keywords tools). My main etsy question is using stats to choose keywords: Is it better to focus on "all time" words, "Last 12 months", "This month", etc.? And, most important of all, are keywords truly reset only when we re-list or do they count just as much when changed on a current listing? Thank you for you help.

We won't be taking a deep dive into SEO but we will be sharing some basic tips that could help with getting found in search, either on or off Etsy. This live session will serve as an introduction to newer sellers or as a refresher anyone who isn't sure about how to use keywords in Etsy listings.
If any of you have any questions around keywords on Etsy, or advice and experiences that you would like to share around using keywords, please do!
