Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

Hi everyone! So lately I have been working on my facebook and twitter trying to gain fan's and follower's as I think it is beneficial for fan's to see new item's ,sales etc... would you go to promo team's that have facebook likeing thread's where people like you just so you like them back but don't actually connect with you or your product? or be patient and wait for likes and follower's from people who are actually interested in your product? does the amount of likes and follower's affect your business?specially if most of them don't come back to your page ?
Thank You.

Re: Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

I've found that doing giveaways are the best way to get followers. I use this app http://apps.facebook.com/hooplasoft_giveaways. Of course, your items are rather more expensive than the things I've given away, but it might be worth it if you really want to attract more followers.

Re: Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

Most people here like to get "authentic" likes... you know, people that actually liked their item. But is hard to get that, it takes time and it can be counter-productive to social media activity.

Even though, likes that are "requested" thru teams and support threads, might not count towards holding your TRUE target market, they help with their numbers in the visibility of your posts, pics, etc. It gives you more relevance online. Regardless of were the likes come from.

Now that doesnt mean that fake accounts work... the accounts that like you need to be in constant activity so that the relevancy works.. a bunch of ghosts profiles with no activity doesnt move anything..

Re: Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

Did you use an app for it? The nice thing about the app I used is that it has a "giveaway stumbler" that lets people browse all giveaways by category or randomly and enter the ones they're interested in. The first time I used it I got 180 likes from it. I haven't had as many new likes this time, but that's because people who have previously liked my page are entering again. I've still gotten about 30 new likes though.

Re: Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

Ooh great idea thanks to the link! Think I will try a giveaway for a printable colouring book, that way I don't lose out even if I only get a handful of new likes, don't know why I haven't thought of this sooner! I really think I should spend more time on Facebook and not just have it updated from my tweets which is mainly what I do at the moment.

Any more Facebook tips?! :-)

Re: Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

I did a giveaway on my blog (since you cannot host giveaways on facebook anymore) and I actually LOST likes, 10 to be exact. The Giveaway is still ongoing so hopefully things will turn around.

Re: Facebook likes and Twitter Followers

As Caitlin said, do NOT host your giveaway on your Facebook page as it is against Facebook's policies. In some states it's considered gambling. Host it on your blog and link to it from your Facebook page.
