Facebook Advertising

Has anyone done facebook advertising? Is it more to bring views/likes to you fb page rather than your shop?
Would love to know your opinion on it and whether it is worth it or not.
Has anyone tried any other forms of paid advertising?
Thank you!

Re: Facebook Advertising

Hi, no, I have never used FB advertising. I have even given up advertising on blogs, since that did not bring more sales.
I rather focus on making new products..

Re: Facebook Advertising

From what I have read on the forums Facebook Advertising is mainly used as an effort to get 'likes'. It's been said that when a blog/site/shop is getting a lot of attention that it makes others interested in that blog/site/shop therefore if your facebook page is getting attention, then others will want to know what all the fuss is about.

If your budget allows, then you might want to try it out. If not for sales, at least for that hyped attention. Everyone's experience with ads are going to vary and if you never try, you will never know. : )

Re: Facebook Advertising

I did it when Facebook gave me $50 credit. I targeted my audience very carefully and I did get a bunch of what I would call 'quality' likes, that is people who really are interested in art and home decor. But I would only pay for FB ads if there was something I really really wanted to promote, not just my FB page

Re: Facebook Advertising

I've received some advertising offers from Facebook recently. Haven't taken the time to read thru those emails yet. IF I were to advertise on FB (or anywhere), I would be wanting that advertising to drive shoppers to my Etsy shop rather than my FB page.

Re: Facebook Advertising

I got a voucher, so I tried it out the opening week of my shop. I got a TON of likes, but i've never heard from these people since. There's little to no participation from people I didn't already know or had done business with. I'm actually starting to think that it's a scam; you pay facebook, facebook knows you need to see results to keep paying them, so a bunch of non-people all of a sudden "like" you. I COULD BE VERY WRONG.. but that's how it looks from my end.

Re: Facebook Advertising

I'm actually going to try a short ad campaign with a small budget targeting people who are really into dog sports like agility and obedience. I'll be curious to see if I get anything new in likes.

Re: Facebook Advertising

I've run facebook promotions from my page (https://www.facebook.com/donnatreasures) periodically. It helps with facebook views. It sometimes helps with likes. It helps with etsy views. But as of yet, I can not attribute a single sale directly to the facebook promotions.

Re: Facebook Advertising

I have tried it, and it seems to be a combination of interest/funny posts and the ads running.
