I appreciate this, and your otherbusiness aid offerings on this page.
However, I find that after working for others for 42 years, and I am
working at home now, I have experienced a similar dilemma as the author
of "A Day Without Distraction...........
Structure and creativity can clash. For instance,
there are so many times I get frustrated because I may be in the middle of
my structured day which includes all those things referred to in the article
such as 30 min. for updating Etsy site, answering business related emails;
squeezing lunch/dinner in; etc., when I hit a creative streak and the
structure goes right out the window.
Another issue regarding structuring my days is now that I work at home
it's a constant struggle trying to make friends, family, and neighbors
understand that I do actually have limits on my time even though I don't go
Hopefully this will get through to them soon.
We all know when the muse grabs us we must go forth and create. Isn't this what it's all about?
Bottom line, we do need structure for some form of efficiency, but we
definitely have to be able to be flexible and not allow either creativity or
structure in the extreme.
I guess the perfect world would be balance?
