Do you send a message when you create a treasury?

Hello,
I am new to creating treasuries, though I enjoy it quite a bit! I was wondering your thoughts on sending a message to each shop whose item you choose to feature. I have both gotten messages and just found out through my activity feed about being featured. Messages don't bother me, but I was wondering if anyone felt like it was "spammy" or kind of like "here, now you have to comment on something for me". I don't want to be rude either way.

So do you like it or not like it when someone sends you a message?

Yes I like to get messages . I got some convos from some treasuries I was in I thought that was nice but some don't do it which is fine . Sometimes you might not see it in the feed.

That happen to me I was going through my feed and saw I was in a treasury . I got a lot views too on that item .

I also like to get messages, there are many days I am not able to check my activity feed and sometimes they dont show up.

Yes I think it's great to get messages and so I always send them when I make a treasury, I just wish I could find a quicker way to do it!

The curator of the first treasury I was ever in on etsy sent me a message and I thought it was a nice personal touch. So from then on I thought that was standard practice, until a few treasuries showed up in my activity feed with no messages. I like getting messages better than finding it in the activity feed especially if they don't always show up.

I always send out messages, most of them I hear back from, some don't and that is ok, but sometimes I get messages back that tell me how grateful they are. My message and treasury came at the right time for them. Lifting spirits.

I like to spread the LOVE so I send messages to sellers when I promote them in treasuries.

I love a message when I am featured, that way if I get extra traffic I can be aware of its source. xx

Curious if anyone else has had trouble with that bulk convo app for treasuries? The last few I've sent have not included my message at all ... people send me confused convos asking if they can answer any questions about their product ... of course I"m always quick to set the record straight with others, and everyone is understanding ... but just wondering if i should reinstall

It's such a nice surprise to see get a convo saying you were in a treasury. I vote yes to getting messages :)

I definitely love getting the messages! Sometimes the activity feed notification gets buried, or sometimes mine just hasn't been working properly. As for the auto-send app thing - I haven't used it, but I keep getting blank messages from people who try to use it, so it doesn't seem very reliable if you have to go back and message it all again yourself later anyway.

I would love to get a convo if someone features my item in their treasury. Unforturnately it doesn't always show up on my activity feed

Yup, getting messages tickles my fancy. I'll know someone added me to their treasury on my Blackberry via business email. I am unable to check my activity feed all the time, so getting a message helps:)

On a side note, I need to create more treasuries to feature other fantastic Etsians:)

Oh, huh. I thought the messages were automatic. D'oh!

Now that I know they're not, I'll be sure to send a message to folks in my next treasury. Comments only help their items get viewed, and they can then promote the treasury on their fan pages and blogs. I think it helps to build communication between sellers, so it's all good.

I always send a message to the people in my treasuries...mainly because I like when others send me a message if they have featured one of my items. I definitely respond to each message to thank the curator for including me in their treasury...and I also offer a little "bonus" to them for featuring one of my items. I think of it as "advertising costs", and I always appreciate the extra exposure for my shop.

I dont mind getting messages to let me know, but I dont send them. I like checking my activity feed all the time though! I dont reply to the treasury messages but I make sure I go over to the treasury and leave a comment.

yes absolutely it makes a difference, many use the activity feed but it is still good to send a quick note with a link

Messages are okay if you want to send them. I used to, but now I figure people will find out via the activity feed. I still get messages sometimes too though.
