When it comes to taking photos for my items, I have a couple jewelry holders that I use to display them. I also use a white background, but I do have someone who could model the items for my photos.
I've seen in other shops where people use mannequins or have models to show their pieces. Do you prefer to see an item being worn or used by a person/model or displayed in a more neutral way?
When it comes to clothing, I like to see the way it lies on a person when it's worn. It's easier for me to visualize how the clothing will appear on me, too. When it comes to jewelry, which is what my shop is based around, I enjoy some of the backgrounds that people use. I really like the outdoor photos that people use, or when they use wood, rocks, or nature in the background to display the item. At the same time, I also like when they're displayed on a simple jewelry stand or white background. I like the photos of earrings hanging off a stand or from a mug, but when I see a photo of someone wearing them I sometimes wonder if the item I'd be buying is the one from the photo, like if the quantity is just listed as one and it's not a mass-produced item -- hopefully that makes sense.
How do you like to see the items you're browsing through to be displayed? Do you prefer a model to see how an item fits, or an example of the item fitting in the type of environment it will be in, or do you like it on a plain background without other items in the picture?
