Direct Checkout Fees vs Transaction fees

I'm trying to be more studious with my book keeping this year and I noticed something:

When I sell something via DC there is an associated fee from Etsy. Totally understandable. But when I went to pay my bill today, I saw that Etsy still charges the transaction fee on top of the DC fee.

Is this correct? Or am I just REALLY bad a book keeping?

Re: Direct Checkout Fees vs Transaction fees

Ya its correct...
You have...To be on this website fees AND processing Credit card fees.

Its the same no matter where you go no matter how the buyer pays...be here fees, and CC processing...unless your selling direct from your own site then it's just the CC processing(well and hosting advertising cost of own site)

In general I figure about 8% of my sale will get eaten in fees. Base my prices with that in mind.

Re: Direct Checkout Fees vs Transaction fees

You will pay a transaction fee for every sale regardless of the payment method selected by the customer.

If the customer pays via paypal, there will also be a fee deducted by paypal.

If the customer pays via Direct Checkout, then there will be a fee deducted by Etsy for the use of the Direct Checkout service.
