Customer's Feedback

Hi, I'm very new to Etsy. I just opened my shop in January and started promoting it in April. I was wondering why most of my customers didn't leave me feedbacks. I love to know what they think about my products and service. Thanks a lot.

Don't worry - you're not the only one! I struggle with the same thing. It makes my day when a customer leaves feedback, sometimes I'm even lucky enough that they send me a pic of them with their new item! But, the majority of folks don't leave anything. I think they're in the mindset of "great, now I got my item, I'm done" and just don't remember to leave it.

I also think Etsy doesn't do a great job in encouraging buyers to leave feedback. It's such a small link when they sign in and then it disappears after they start browsing.

You can send a little note along with their package saying that "feedback is appreciated" or something along those lines. :)

I just received my first purchase and I now understand why buyers don't always leave feedback...it took me a while to figure out where to leave it!

I like the idea of including a request for feedback with their "thank you" in their package. Also, what about a feedback coupon for your shop which would give customers a monetary incentive to leave feedback?

It's frustrating, but it's just one of those things that you can't do too much about. I've asked people to let me know when their items have arrive safely, and I guess something that I sort of hope comes with that is an implicit mindfulness in relation to some level of renewed contact when the item does arrive... otherwise I don't really feel as if I can do too much.

Huh... a feedback coupon. I like that idea, that could work!

I guess a feedback request, if stated properly, could be a done too. If I was careful in how I phrased it, that's something that I could see myself toying with at some point.

I have the same problem. I just started sending an email when their item ships with their tracking number and also a link to leave feedback:
www.Etsy.com/feedback_awaiting.php
That link should work for anyone who is logged into Etsy.

I agree it is great to receive feedback. I like the idea of including a link in your shipping email. My problem is I have 7 feedbacks, all pos, but only 4 show up . Not sure where the other three are. Any ideas?

Maybe the other 3 are feedback left for you as a buyer? I think that feedback is now hidden from the public.

Your not the only one! I wish there was an email reminder for them to leave a feedback. Some of my customers leave me great feedback on my Blog or email me, and I try to ask kindly for them to leave a feedback at my shop and still some don't do it. So it's pretty common that a lot of buyers just don't like to take the time to leave feedback.

I noticed sometimes, the seller is the one that doesn't leave feedback. Now that I created my Etsy shop, I will pay attention to this point.

I have a question about leaving feedback as seller : do you leave feedback right after payment or when the buyer as received his/her order ?

I have a little reminder in my Message to Buyers! If I know the person I sometimes email and ask if they can leave feedback!
