Converting views into sales

Hi guys,

I am happy to say that my views have been increasing dramatically over the last few days (woohoo!). But I haven't been converting any of those views into sales, and I was wondering if there might be something lacking in my listings that would push the right buyer to purchase?

If anyone has time to take a look at a few listings in my shop and give me some suggestions, it would be most appreciated! Thank you!

About views: their numbers don't really matter. You want to get the RIGHT views. Of your target market.
So, are you promoting towards your target market?

Re: Converting views into sales

I realize that; I'm not sure that I am reaching my target market or not. I have an idea of what my ideal customer would be, basically me with more disposable income. I've always tried to do as much digging with my views as possible to find out more about the people that look at my listings, but I find most of them don't have any profile info so I haven't been going after it as much. It's hard to know if you're reaching your target audience if you don't know who is looking.

Target market aside though, I'm sure my listing info could use some improvement, does anything stick out to you as missing or confusing?

Re: Converting views into sales

Try more descriptive titles. so for the sailboats in Ireland you could start with: sailboats at dawn(or dusk), black and white print, coast of Ireland.
because your titles all start the same you aren't getting the exposure you could be getting.
also I know a lot of shops offer postcards of their prints. sometimes I buy these to have for a while before I decide to invest in something bigger.
Beautiful work and shop!

Re: Converting views into sales

She's right, target market is really the biggest, absolute most important thing in this game.
Your listings look very nice. I did not see anything that jumped out toward me as glaringly wrong or missing. In fact, they look much better than most.
Now if I could only talk you into photographing my items for me..! Haha
Have you tried comparing your shop and items to others that are similar in very successful shops?

Oh, your tags could be MUCH better. I just saw that. Try less one worded tags and more descriptive phrases that people might search for when looking to buy your items.

Re: Converting views into sales

So I've been working through my tags and titles today and something occurred to me that I couldn't find an answer to: does it matter what order your tags are in? do they have a hierarchy? anyone know?

Re: Converting views into sales

I read somewhere awhile back that the order of the tags does not matter. Only their existence and relevance do.

Re: Converting views into sales

As was stated before---numbers in views don't really matter. It's really frustrating that that is the case though! I have nearly 13 k followers on twitter and at first I was excited thinking my sales would go up, but they did not. :(

One of my friends was featured on a blog and now has 15k followers on facebook, devart etc and the same story. You just gotta keep making quality product and ONE DAY it will catch on! :)
