Convert Views to Sales

Hi Fellow Esty Sellers,

My shop, Cut Sew Stitch, has been open actively for about 8 months. I seem to be getting a decent amount of views but it is not translating well into sales. I have only 3 to date. Is there something glaringly absent or wrong that I am not noticing?

Would love to get some feedback!!! I have tweaked SEO, linked to Pinterest, linked to FB but not sure what else I can do.

Thanks in advance for your time/advice.

Hello-

It looks like you have some cute products. It's a little difficult to see them in your photos. I like that you staged them on the mannequins - it might be good to add some pictures that show close up or detailed shots of them without the other things in the pictures. That would give customers some variety.

You could also fill in some of the missing sections like the opening message, About, Policies, etc.

Good luck!

I agree the comment above, maybe tweek your pics a bit more. I'll show you an example of a successful etsy shop that sells bags.Maybe you could examine her shop and see the good points. FYI: I an avid buyer of this shop. I've probably bought more than 25 of her products. Good Luck :-)

Your products look awesome! I agree that having text in photos is distracting. Any chance of having you or a friend wear your items for the pics as well as mannequins? It would help to know what they looked like on a person.

Another area to work on is tags. One item I clicked on, you only have 3 tags. Tags help your items get found. So use all of them and use them effectively. Think about what multi-word phrases related to your products customers would type into the search bar if they want to purchase one of your items. I see you have filled them in quite well for other items though. Wondering why LLBean tote bag would be one of the tags though?
Try synonyms as well for your keywords: hairband, head wrap, etc.

Good luck with your shop.

As others have said above I would focus on the item that you are selling in your photos. They are a little cluttered, if you make sure the info is in the item description write up then that will help clear up the pictures. Also, have you considered taking pictures of open bags ( look at online retailers and how they photograph their bags and try to recreate the pictures for your product). You have nice things, good luck!

Re: Convert Views to Sales

I agree that a large part of your problem is your photos. MUNIshop that Marie linked before have a great style to aspire to where photography is concerned.

I think you could work on your tags, titles and descriptions. There are a lot of excess words at the start of each title which are so specific I doubt anyone is using them to search for your type of product. You could try some phrases like 'workout headband', 'exercise headband', 'polka dot headband' 'patterned headband' 'terry headband', in the title, tags and worked in natural sounding text into the first few paragraphs of the description.

I think if you can, expand your descriptions to really tell the customer exactly what the piece looks like. Imagine they cant see the image for some reason. So include a description of the pattern, the measurements of the piece and what head size it might fit. I'd also try and use the description to tell the customer why your headbands are the best - the adjustable feature could be made more of?
