I actually did a little research on the company and found that they are legitimate. Adweek had an article about them helping Better Homes and Gardens get into e-commerce, and BHG now has an e-commerce site for people to shop through many different unique vendors.
As for the opportunity, they said they will feature our products in a newsletter with a blurb and photos of our products, and offer readers a coupon code for a 72 hour sale for 30% off. They get 20% commission. They link it to my Etsy shop - I don't have to send my products anywhere except to the customers.
Honestly, after talking with them, I don't think it is a scam. I don't really see any way I could be scammed by this.. If my products are in a Better homes and Gardens newsletter that millions of people read.. sure.. give them 30% off and take 20% commission - I'll just be thrilled to be in the newsletter & get that much traffic and potential sales.
They said if it works out well for both of us, we can then discuss other ways to promote our brand on Better homes and Gardens.
I don't know.. sounds like a sweet deal to me and it's very low risk for us and pretty much no effort to get all that traffic to our shop.
