Computer time = increased views?

Love Etsy. Learning lots about business. Question: does the amount of time spent shopping, favorite-ing, creating treasuries, etc increase your views. Are those two things related? Or do quality photos, efficient tags, descriptions, titles have more impact?

photos, tags, and descriptions are uber important and should be your first priority. There is no sense in trying to get people to come to your store if you are not exactly ready for them.

Building up your circles is a great way to get increased traffic, favorites,and hopefully sales. something I have been doing, that has already gotten me a few sales, is to use http://tools4etsy.com/

Search for an item that is similar to yours. For instance, I sell zines, so I look up other zines. Copy the item number or the shop name. Then go to tools4etsy, under tools, choose hearting, and either search buy the item number or shop name that sells stuff similar to yours. It will give you this big list showing the people that favorite the item or heart. Circle those people. I personally only circle those on the list that have made at least 50 purchasers. This ay I know they are active buyers, and even more likely to purchase from me.

Treasuries do increase views but in my opinion sales are few. GMJ

All of the above will increase traffic to your shop yet in my case the majority of sales have been new buyers to Etsy. It does help to add more people/shops to your circle but most of all do lots and lots of outside marketing and have superb photos and descriptions!

Exposure time is important (how will someone find your shop if you hardly ever show yourself or your shop link?).
BUT only if the items you are showing are wanted, are attractive, well made, fairly priced, presented well, etc.

I was away from Etsy for the weekend for the first time since I started and I noticed a big drop in views even though everything was exactly the same. And it was only two days!

I think that being on teams, making treasuries, adding favorites does add to your views since people can see that you're clicking around. It gives you more exposure on the site since your avatar is popping up more.

I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference, but I do notice a difference overal.

Thank you to all. I appreciate your advice. I haven't done the outside marketing, was waiting until the shop looked good, something I am proud of. Will try hitting on family and friends next.
