Categories in New Listing - How to Choose ????

I make handmade crochet clothes - my shop is very new.

I have been using the category system in the New Listing section as follows = No 1 Crochet next 2 Clothes and finally 3 Baby etc
My first category has always been Crochet.

My question is - What is best to attract customers who are interested in buying - Using Crochet or Clothes or even Children (or women etc) in the category No1 spot ?

Can anyone advise me please ?

Personally, I would browse children or clothes if I were looking for kids clothes, whether they were crochet or not. Why don't you try listing items under different categories and see what gets you more hits?

Okay, I am not an expert at all but was looking at your custom layette set (beautiful, by the way). Here are some suggestions for tags that came to my mind: custom baby gift, baby girl gift, baby shower gift, mother-to-be gift or new mom.

does the word 'gift' work as a tag ? do people put that in a search ?

I don't know that gift by itself works well for a tag, but tags like baby shower gift would probably work well for your products.

Ariella is probably right. I'm still trying to figure out tags too - my suggestions would work just as well without the "gift" added on. I was just thinking - what keywords would I use to search for this item?
